This Hayward neighborhood spot offers a colorful atmosphere for a small group or couple to enjoy classic Mexican fare. There parking but maybe a short wait for the limited number of tables available.

While on my last stay in Hayward I did a Google search for Mexican restaurants there. I didn't use Trip Advisor (shame on me), but another site which had glowing reviews for this small (and I do mean small!) Mexican restaurant just off of Mission Blvd. in Hayward. The restaurant only has about ten tables, so plan on getting there... More

Look everywhere, and I think that you will agree, La Pinata has the best tortillas out there, anywhere! My they are good. This colorful restaurant was busy, filled with a loyal , local following when we arrived. Still, the service was quick, friendly, and attentive from our waitress Miriam. I really liked the pork tamales that I ordered. The three... More

Great enchiladas, fresh tortillas and attentive staff.Salsa is fresh and has a nice bite to it.. Tamales are good too, as is the huge bowl of chicken soup with rice.

Dined here for a late lunch and had a really great meal. The taco was tasty, well seasoned and very crispy. The pork tamale and beef enchilada were also delicious. Even at 2:30 the restaurant was filled with patrons obviously enjoying their meals. Can't wait to return.

this place has been around for years---we used to live down the street, and since it's open till 3AM, were there often. We still go whenever Mexican food is on the agenda....try the Caldo Tlapeno, which is chicken soup with tons of veggies, rice, even avocado...it's spicy, so be sure to have a drink nearby...lots of other good stuff too,... From the outside, you wonder if you should be eating there, but don't let the appearance stop you from trying. They have several great (and reasonable) lunch specials. I've tried both the grilled chicken salad (it's enormous), and the burrito. Both are very good. This is authentic Mexican food. Oh, and if you don't like spicy, watch out for the... More
