Maine lobste. on the West Coast

We'd heard about this place and wanted to try it for ourselves. The lobster roll came with two sides: homemade potato chips (good, crunchy and could have used a tad more salt) and coleslaw (which was not as savory sweet as I like). I wasn't impressed with the bread part of the roll, as it wasn't... read more

Also the biggest seafood restaurant I've ever been in. The dining area is huge and it better be because the parking lot was packed at 11:30 on a Sunday. We were seated promptly (we were lucky!!) outside with a spectacular view of the marina and ocean. My daughter and boyfriend had two kinds (small and large is all I remember)... More

We loved the setting and cuisine at Sam's Chowder House. The beet salad was a winner, followed by Sam's famous lobster roll. Wonderful! Service was attentive and friendly and everything was delicious.

We decided to stop in at half moon bay on a recent trip down the PCH 1 to Santa Barbara. We had heard of Sam's Chowder House from a family member who had been many years before and decided to try it out- we were not disappointed! Parking was a bit of a challenge but we were able to find... More

I went to Sam's chowder House with my daughter, and we both loved it. We had a seafood spaghetti and a jumbo shrimps stuffed with lobster meat. We loved it so much that we went back there the next day. We also stopped by at Barbara's Fishtrap, but the price was about same and the place was very cramped, so... More

Excellent seafood fixed to perfection. Ideal location to enjoy a sunset (weather permitting). Setting is very casual - a lot of people in shorts, tees and flip flops... Food is always good. Chowder is good but other good chowders available around the corner.

Went there today and had their Lobster Roll as well as their soft serve Sundae. Both were fantastic. Service, from the man that took my phone reservation to the greeting staff to the waitress were all great. Food was well prepared and met the hype for their Lobster Roll. This was a close second to my favorite roll at Pearl's... More

Loved the lobster roll and fries. The clam chowder was very good. I am just sorry that we were not there long enough to enjoy a few more meals.

We ought to dine here every time we visit Half Moon Bay.Twice in the past few years, my company celebrated the award banquets there and the fresh lobsters were humongous! The service was always great. This visit was unplanned yet we were lucky to get a table in less than 15 minutes. Thank God because it was a full house on... More

We had a nice dinner here. This is a casual ocean front restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. It is busy and takes reservations so I would recommend them. The outdoor area has a nice view and looks out over the ocean and Marina. They have the gas heater by the tables and a nice outside fire pit. Their food... More
