Great Salads

We walked to Flying Fish Grill while visiting HMB. The wait staff was overwhelmed with a number of large parties that took away from the 2-4 table top patrons. This is management issue not the servers. Short staffing on a beautiful weekend in May only requires one to look at the weather and add... read more

The food here is very good and also priced well. It does not have a lot of ambiance and the first time there it was difficult to find.

What would be a great way to take a break in between exploring the Pacific Coast Highway and catching the sunset at Half Moon Bay, you ask? Simple answer: stop at the Flying Fish Grill and enjoy what must be their signature dish. This was where I received my introduction to fish tacos, Northern California-style. They could not have been... More

As we were driving from Santa Cruz to San Francisco, we found ourselves around Half Moon Bay, California right around lunch time. Thank goodness for all the food apps on my phone that led us right to Flying Fish Bar and Grill. We arrived around 11:30 and were seated immediately. The restaurant has an island vibe with bamboo and tiki... More

Flying Fish Grill has been a long time favorite of locals for decades, and their move to a new, larger location hasn't changed anything we love one bit! Their menu choices broadened, and they have some of the freshest fish served on the Coast, as well as some great chicken and beef options. The service is friendly, fast and efficient,... More

This is what what was written on the receipt. Their restaurant motto matched the experience we had. My wife and myself both thought our meals was very good. I had the mahi and scallops tacos and my wife the salmon. We enjoyed our meals.

On the way to San Francisco Airport and found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. This would be a good choice for someone who wanted a different type of eating experience and appeared to be a favorite with a lot of locals. I had a cod sandwich with cole slaw, served with an ample bun and other dressing--just okay. The decor... More

Found this place by accident while on a recent trip. Great selection of fish and especially fish tacos. My cod and mahi mahi tacos were delish. Had the crabby cheese bread, too. Staff was friendly. It's a big place with a Hawaiian them. I'll be back.

If you can get past the smell -- and we almost didn't stay because of the overpowering fried-fish-oil that smacked us in the face at the door -- the food's not bad. Lots of locals, not much in the way of décor, but the fish and chips were good. They need to work on the exhaust fans or change the... More
