The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and decor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side.

Great place and good food

Love the view of the ocean and the food is really good. We go often. It is an old speak-easy among other things.

As you drive along the main road you wonder about the quality of the restaurants down by the beach. So we took a chance and picked one, and we struck gold. The view from the restaurant is amazing, looking out to the beach and the sea. I had one of the daily specials for lunch, salmon, and it was a... More

We ate at the Miramar twice on our last visit to Half Moon Bay. The view is priceless, especially at sunset. Happy hour starts at 5, and features 1/2 priced beer and wine. The chicken nachos were really good, although only available during happy hour. The outside deck is large and has heaters for your comfort. One more thing, you... More

I enjoyed dinner so much that I made a reservation for the next week with friends! It had been a few years since I had a luncheon there with friends, but I never had dinner there. I loved the ambiance. Our waiter was very attentive and explained all the dinner specials. We were happy find that Thursday was a "special... More

Get here early, make reservation. Popular right on ocean ask for window table. Food is fine but not outstanding. Terrible Caesar salad. Fresh fish is very good.

The restaurant has a great view of the ocean and the service was very friendly. We ordered the prawn diavolo and were disappointed to get six small, unshelled shrimp without the heads. It was expensive for what they gave you. The wine was pricey and the rest of the meal just average.

This restaurant is situated directly on the beach, you cannot beat the great views! Service is very friendly and attentive, the food is pretty good, even though it's not super fancy. They have a full bar with friendly bartenders, and they even carry locally made vodka! Overall, this restaurant is family friendly, has a dog friendly patio, but it is... More

We're from Philadelphia, PA so when we arrived at restaurant right on the beach looking at the Pacific, we were psyched. That was short-lived. Food was not good at all, service wasn't great & over-priced for quality!

What a great find! We were looking for a good bowl of chowder at the ocean and instead found an awesome seafood chowder with a view to match. Arrived right at noon and could tell it was going to be good as the parking lot was full and the restaurant all abuzz. Next time we are in the area we... More
