Expensive for what it is. The waitstaff was very nice, the food was pretty average for what I am used to living on the coast. We had the fish and chips and the crab salad sandwich. Don't get me wrong, they tasted very nice, but they were pricey!

We had read great reviews on TA and had high expectations. Sadly we experienced a typical tourist trap restaurant. It certainly is popular, as it opens at 11am, and it fills up quickly. Second round starts about 11:45- 12:00. The parking lot is across the street. It is inadequate and silly drivers easily block cars from getting in or out....

My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive to Half Moon Bay. When we got there on a Monday it was very crowded. When we got the menu we discovered one of the reasons - a senior menu, which turns out to be a good deal. We had the Fish & Chips which is a smaller portion...

This place is known for fish and chips which we did not order. The cod sandwich was good and the portions are quite large with loads of cole slaw. On a Sunday, expect a long wait. Service is friendly and the view right on the beach is great. I would opt for the take-out window next time but order much...

This restaurant is a throwback to good food and service without the high prices. Make sure you get a window table. This is a favorite spot of the locals.
We went here because the trip advisor reviews were good! But it was really really bad. The shrimp cocktail was water logged and over priced, the clam chowder had no flavor whatsoever, and all the fried seafood tasted exactly the same, bland and over fried. Avoid!!!!!
A good place for clam chowder and seafood. Had to wait for over 30 minutes for a table since we were a group of 7. Kids had the calamari and another ordered a burger(weird) which was surprisingly very good. Friendly service and food was fresh.
Driving down the Pacific Coast Highway and feeling hungry for lunch...and while you see plenty of places to eat none of them are really busy or buzzing until Barbara's Fish Trap in Half Moon Bay. The place was nearly full with a mix of diners that clearly included many locals so we felt lucky to get a table to ourselves...

Had dinner earlier tonite and is it not only good, fresh but an iconic spot for HMB.
We had our first dinner here @ 30 yrs ago when you could camp on the HMB beach! It was small and funky and still is. Other restaurants have enlarged, reinvented but Barbara's has not changed staying true to the seafood. Try the...

Barbara's is the BEST place, locally, to get great clam chowder--that I know of. Theirs is also made without dairy!! It's always crowded on weekends--when the weather's good, it's crowded ALL the time, so expect a wait. Fish and chips are lightly fried. Any fish is good--they'll always recommend something for you.
