Good Food

Barbara's Fishtrap is a small restaurant, but has seating outside, too. Cash only, which is good to know ahead of time. Nice folks, but they are, literally, running around. Very busy place, but service was excellent. Lots of seafood choices, with big portions. Food was good, and I would... read more

The wait time for ONE PERSON was vlose to an hour, i would have left but i seen that they have homemade clam chowder and i am a fan of chowder so i had to stay to see what was up. Older place no new technology. You walk in wait for someone to ask your name and wait. They sit... More

The freshest seafood you can possibly imagine and located right next to the marina at Half Moon Bay. The chowder was awesome!

It was recommended by the front desk staff where we stayed and was worth it. Great view with good food. Excellent sea food, very casual, no reservations.

Heavy, greasy, tough seafood. Flat, room-temperature beer. Surly, poorly-trained, yet arrogant employees. Crowded, noisy. Hateful vibe. $60 for 2 people. Make your own choice. Clearly a restaurant trading on past glory (hopefully at some time in the past it was good). But it must just be a tradition to say this place is good. The reality is that it is... More

Barbara's is nice little place on the water. It is cash only and not cheap, but worth a wait. If the day is nice, there is a take out section with both food and drinks. Grab something to eat and use one of the picnic tables just outside or head down the dock. It can be a good spot for... More

They had good food. We enjoyed the fish and chips but it didn't blow me away. They been around a long time and have a great reputation but, compared to other restaurants in that area, it wasn't my favorite. Their chowder is not dairy based so I didn't like it as much as others (but they say that up front).

Barbs has a lot of good seafood, much of it deep fried. Terrific chowder too. Used to vacation nearby at an RV park and would walk over for take out chowder most evenings. Can have a line on weekends.

Roll up your sleeves and dig in to the little fish shack called Barbara's Fishtrap. It may be billed as a fishtrap, but it is not a tourist trap! The place is funky charming, and very busy, where one goes for some wonderful seafood while wearing a swim suite, pith helmet, and cowboy boots!! Great place for those of you... More
