Barbara's Fishtrap - Great Food, Service and Location!

My wife and I stopped in at Barbara's on our first day in the Half Moon area. I was a bit unsure about where to stop for lunch so relied on what place looked the busiest! Barbara's did not disappoint. We had to wait about 20 minutes or so for a table inside where we were seated at a window... read more

The seafood was super fresh, but fairly pricey given the casual, no-frills atmosphere and service. Get there early, and remember cash (no credit cards!).

Very busy restaurant. Has parking lot across the street but filled up early. Parking available further down street. While the seafood is very fresh, its "tempura" is not the Japanese style light batter but just plain deep fried breaded seafood. Fried vegetable was fresh. Coleslaw was cut very coarse. It was not very tasty. Had also clam chowder in bread... More

The reviews looked good. Huge letdown. Had the Dungeness crab salad sandwich for $19 and it was tasteless. The crab was without flavor and I questioned if it was packaged crab. The chowder wasn't very good either. Great location but the food wasn't very good.

whenecer we visit HMB we make sure we visit this restaurant ... the Clam Chowder is my favourite and the fish chips are always fresh and delicious.. Price is resonable and service is good.

Fish and chips. Impression? Meh. Batter is crispy, thin yet too oily. They should let it rest on paper towels before serving. Chips were fantastic! Crispy, not oily, yum! Clam chowder was tangy, full of clams and chunks of potato and celery. For those wondering no, I didn't eat it all. Learned that frankly, I only like the chips. Won't... More

Near transformational experience at a sea food dive in Half Moon Bay. On a driving trip stumbled upon this place - glad we did. Hit it at a lull in the crowd, walked right in and got a table in the middle of the main dining room - typical of the salty casual seasoned neighborhood service it was: "sit down... More

There is always a wait...because the food is just that good...but it's worth it! The inside is a small & intimate setting. The clams were fantastic!

Nice place to eat. Cash only and no reservations. There are many, many beers served. It is right on the water. Child's plates and senior plates. The place can be quite busy, but an icon in Moss Beach.
