Family-friendly place, great chowder. We were seated right away, and the waiter was very gracious as our children were dropping food (1 and 2 yrs old, learning to eat). Great seafood!

Busy, busy restaurant. They also have take out. Garlic Crab Bread was wonderful! Tempuras are light and not greasy.

The Barbara's fishtrap is a small gem right beside the Johnson Pier, where we can buy live crab. We visit the Barbara's during Christmas, it's crab season, the crab is very tasty. we also ordered clam and clam chowder, both is very excellent, especially the chowder, it's a must try.

Sometimes it can be hard to get a table here at peak times due to the restaurants popularity. the food is consistently good and it is right on the water. The ambience very rustic to be polite.

Don't underestimate this unassuming seafood restaurant in Half Moon Bay. A mid-afternoon lunch on a sunny Sunday in December still had quite a few diners, but being only two of us we luckily got seated right away. Indoor tables have a view of the bay, we sat on the patio near the road, there's also a couple of metal tables... More

Fast, convenient with good service, reasonable pricing, a good beer selection and some of the best clam chowder you'll find anywhere. The crab here is excellent too. The seating is a little cramped, but overall definitely a good place to grab a quick bite while you're in Half Moon Bay.

Met up with my son and we went for lunch. I ordered the fish and chips. It was very generous and flavorful. He ordered the chowder and thought it was more a potato soup than chowder. He also had a crab salad that he finished every bite. Was a rainy day but was nice to see the water and when... More

We have eaten here a few times over the years. Fish and chips have always been good. Shrimp was good and calamari was ok. I liked the chowder - lots of clams, but it isn't your typical chowder and won't appeal to everyone. Don't expect a fancy restaurant or cheap prices but this place has always been very busy and... This place was recommended by our hotel and we found it fairly empty when we arrived around 5PM on a Wednesday night. The setting is kitschy and the wait staff very prompt. Although the food was good, it was not special and we found the same fare at the San Francisco pier for the same prices.

We happened on Barbara's and noticed the beach town vibe as we drove by it (outside tables on the water, walk-up ordering option) and decided to give it a try! We chose to wait and eat inside, but the time went quickly with a quick walk out into the marina; they have an outside speaker, so you can clearly hear... More
