Yee-hah! Wonderfully atmospheric saloon, with a great bar (see pic) and lots of Western/gold rush memorabilia. The food was good, reasonably priced and the service was good. The jukebox was pretty good too!

There are not many places to stop before Yosemite. This was a good location, food was good, restrooms good. Small town atmostphere.

We went on vacation to Yosemite with my brother and my wife. We stayed at the Yosemite Pines RV. The first day we arrived we decided to have breakfast there even that some reviews were not that good. After that we went every day for breakfast. The food was excellent, the service impeccable. Our waitress "Sherry" was always asking if... More

I LOVE the atmosphere ! I live here and visit the Iron Door Regularly - the food is good but the character of the place with all the history and animal heads is just too cool! Friday and Saturday nights are always lively with good bands. The owners are local kids who depend on tourism -so stop by and say... More

We visited twice the same day. Once for a drink and then returned for dinner. At the bar we were served quickly by the wife of the bartender( the owner?) . She recommended adding cinnamon liqueur to the cider drink my hubby ordered and he enjoyed it. Later we returned with our teen daughter and enjoyed our dinner. Food was... More

If you're in Groveland, you might as well stop into the Iron Door Saloon and be part of history. This saloon is the oldest continuously operated drinking establishment in California according to their plaque. The doors are the original and very unique. We stopped in on our way to Yosemite for a quick bite and it did not disappoint. We... More

Had diner here the 2nd evening we stayed in Groveland. Burger and salad we had, portions were large and taste just delicious. Ceiling of the saloon hangs full with one dollar bills as decoration, furthermore old pictures, road signs, old license plates and stuffed animals gives this bar an amazing historical look. You can just sit at the bar and... More

The waitress went through a litany of food the restaurant was out of (including ribs and the beer on tap we'd hoped to order). The food we ordered, salads, burgers and fries, was decent, but the place is rather dirty. There was a big game on tv so it was crowded when we were there and the wifi was spotty... More

We were impressed with knowing that this is the oldest bar in California. This is a fun and noisy bar at dinner time which for dinner could be a problem because of the noise. The burgers are OK but the Prime Rib Dinner was well done when we ordered medium rare. For Groveland eating here is find as long as... More
