This was a unique stop on our trip. This is suppose to be the oldest saloon in Calif. It definitely has that local flare that is fun to see during a trip. The food was good and beer was cold. Staff was friendly and helpful with local info. A fun part of our trip to Yosemite.

During a hot day we had a good refreshing salad together with a good lemonade. The saloon is very nice with money every where.

Our curiosity was piqued when we found out the Saloon was one of the "oldest" somethings, so we decided to try it. Groveland is a small, very quaint former Gold Rush town, and this is one of their "fixtures" in town. We asked what was it's distinction, and the waiter told us it's the longest running saloon, even through Prohibition.... More

Not bad decent food great atmosphere... Place is really cool old saloon style... Food was good but nothing great... We ordered a burger, fish and chips and chicken sandwich ... Service good ... I might try another place in this small town after reading other tripadvisor reviews but can't complain

Make sure you leave yourself at least one hour - great home-made and juicy chargrilled burgers, nice beer, great atmosphere and the local waiters won't let you wait long. And - do not forget to treat yourselves with a great ice cream right next door ;-)

We walked in and was sat by the stage. It's supposedly the oldest saloon in California and it looks it. The floors have loose laminate tiles and are scattered about in no particular order. The decor is caked with dust, dollar bills and staples are everywhere! Some of the bills are crusty brown from back when smoking was still legal.... More

I like visiting old historic saloons every opportunity I can, so when I accidentally found the Iron Door Saloon on my way to Yosemite, it was like discovering gold for me. How a great place like this can remain relatively unknown considering that it is the oldest continuously operating saloon in California (since 1852) is a mystery to me. The... More

We was staying in Groveland for 4 nights as we explored Yosemite. Came here every night for a late meal - and were never disappointed. This pub/saloon, like the rest of Groveland, has a long history and it's been decorated inside with a whole bunch of memorabilia to give it a special character. (See pics) There must be $1,000 stuck... More

We had decent food, great burgers. Lovely staff. VERY slow and by the time our kids got their ice cream deserts they were entirely melted. No exageration. They were ice cream soup. One drank his down. But we had a good time anyway and you come for the place.
