We stayed in Groveland for 3 nights and ate at Iron Door Saloon twice. It has a great atmosphere. I had the buffalo burger one night and a veggie burger the next night. Both were very good.

Friendly servers; fun old saloon, ok food it was exactly what we expected. They have a tradition; you come and sign a dollar bill then hang it on the ceiling; or along the wall; gives you something to do while waiting for food.

This bar looks like something you would see in a movie, when there is a rough looking bar with a few heavy set men in leathers floating around. We walked in and hesitated, but decided to stay anyway. The inside of the bar is crazy and hilarious. There are animal trophy heads lining pretty much all the walls of the... More

We ordered two salads. The Cobb Salad and the Cesar Salad. The chicken in both salads were cold and tasteless and the lettuce was soaked in water so the dressing was also completly without taste. Both bacon and crutons was missing. We arrived just in time before the kitchen closed, so we were happy that they took our order, but... More

Loved this little place! Good food and nice bartender! Even left a dollar in the ceiling like many others before us!

Quaint old place in downtown Groveland. They have the old fashion saloon and nice dinning room with the same menu, prices, staff and kitchen. Service was a bit slow on three visits. Food was good but not outstanding (typical grill stuff). They take all major credit cards. They have lots of parking across the street. The dinning room seemed to... More

We were intrigued when we saw the "oldest California saloon" sign out front, and decided to check it out. The floors looked about 100 years old, and that was probably the last time anyone cleaned the place. We ordered various burgers for dinner and a couple of beers. The beers were cold, and the food was hot. Other than that,... More

A very authentic gold rush kind of place with good food, varieties of beer, and very fine service. We enjoyed taking a break several times during our week in Yosemite to enjoy the Iron Door.

My husband and I had lunch at the Iron Door Grill on a whim. What we experienced was a wonderful meal. He had their Fish and Chips. They were not the minced frozen fare that can be typical at many restaurants. They were four large tasty pieces of fish with a delicious tarter sauce and french fries. The fries and... More
