Cold beer, cold wine, fun bar atmosphere (with a few locals who've had a few too many. Neat history. Friendly service, though not too fast. Good parts of our dinner for six included sweet potato fries, garlic soup, and pasta dishes (portabella ravioli and shrimp with spaghetti). The host at our hotel just outside of town recommended we stop in here, so we did. We had such a great time! The food was excellent, and we had a fun time with the staff too. We were treated like family! It was bizarre to enjoy San Francisco calibre food in the middle of the mountains. more

We stopped and ate lunch here on our way to the Evergreen Lodge. Don't bother. Go across the street and go to the Mexican restaraunt next to the Charolette, which has great food and reasonable prices.
