We invite you to step back in time to enjoy the charming atmosphere of this historical site and to partake in the English tradition of taking tea - a tradition that began in England in 1840 by Anne, the seventh Duchess of Bedford. Dori's Tea Cottage opened in May 2008 to continue this fine tea tradition and to expand on Dori's life-long love of tea. As a young girl growing up in San Francisco, Dori was first introduced to tea by her English grandmother, Elsie. Her grandmother's favorite tea cup and the teacup Dori used at her grandmother's home are on display in the shop, and the menu selections are named after the women in Dori's family. In 2012, Dori's expanded into the adjacent space that is now Dori's Cafe, which was Groveland's former U.S. Post Office. The Cafe features espresso, fresh brewed iced teas, sandwiches, wraps, quiche, soup, salad and a variety of bakery items. We hope you enjoy your visit - whether you enjoy a quick breakfast, join us for our English tea luncheon, or "Build a Picnic" for your trip to Yosemite.

Tea for Two Twice

During a recent trip to Yosemite Park we stayed in Groveland. Over the course of a long weekend we made two trips to Dori's Tea Cottage. The first visit we had a delightful apple, currant, and cheddar turnover with cinnamon and apple rooibos herbal tea in the cafe section. During this visit we... read more

Let me get the record straight, I am a coffee lover not a tea lover. My better half on the other hand is a Tea lover. So when she saw this place we had to stop. It was wonderful. In the back is a very quaint area where you can drink tea properly. Its very popular with the locals. Always... More

I purchased the Groupon for the tea lunch for two and was pleasantly surprised! I took my Mother who is a avid drinker of tea, and admirer of beautiful things and Dori's provided both. The tea selection was huge, and the two we got were wonderful. The tea lunch special was a light lunch, but had a great variety of... More

We had planned to stop in Groveland for late lunch on our way to Yosemite Valley. My wife's eyes lit up when she saw Dori's as an option. So we dropped in about 2 PM. There was no one else in the back tea room, and just a few patrons in the front cafe. The menu for tea is expansive... More

My hubby and I had a wonderful meal and sampled multiple flavors of ice tea. I loved the idea having a half of dozen ice teams ready and waiting. The customer service was excellent. Can't wait to go back when it's cooler and try the hot tea.

Great place. Very nice people. Delicious sandwiches. We stopped in before Yosemite and it was a great way to begin our visit to the Park.

We stopped in after a trip to Yosemite National Park, the owners we so nice . The cappuccinos and freshly made pastry were delicious. So glad we stopped and saw that they carried Stonewall Kitchen products. The same ones we enjoy at home in Maine. The air conditioned comfort was a total relief from the 108 degree heat. Loved our... They had recently expanded and now have (formal?) tea room with traditional food. The front has a walk up counter which does subs, salads, etc.Staff is hard working and friendly. The shop has many hard to find tea accessories, and a great selections of Teas.

Once again I visited Dori's in Groveland and had an excellent breakfast as I was passing thru from San Jose Family Camp. Food is well prepared, beautifully presented and extremely good and filling. The ambiance creates a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere ... we are surrounded by cheery colors and displays. My friends and I particularly liked the breakfast wraps. Staff... More
