The best hippie breakfast around

Got to have breakfast either here while I'm in town. The food is hearty with wonderful breakfast combinations and good home fries. It is the spot for a substantial and delicious breakfast in GV.

A welcoming & comfortable place where the menu is innovative, the food reliably well prepared, the staff attentive & friendly, the pricing quite reasonable... it always hits the spot!

The discovery of this little restaurant was one of the best in recent years. We went for breakfast. It was scrumptious! We had seen this restaurant many times and its original restaurant in Nevada City but they always seemed crowded. Now I know why. If you have to wait, do, it is worth it. I had the So. Pine Scramble... More

The menu was great, lots of choices and even healthy meals available! I got the Chicken tiah wrap and it was amazing! Lots of flavor and big servings! I will be coming back and bringing friends to this restaurant!!

We used to go to the one in Nevada City routinely for breakfast, then we began focusing on organic Eggs and this place doesn't offer them. The food is good, though a bit heavy and the service is good. The service in the Grass Valley is slow at best. The last and final time we went, we waited at the... More

I usually go there in the Winter/Fall. I luv their soup and sandwich lunch. They always have wonderful home made soup. The service is excellent.

This is a great place for a healthy meal. They cater to the health conscious crowd with lots of veggies and whole grains. They even make their own ketchup. I love the huevos rancheros which have brown rice in them. Excellent coffee too. They have a juicer right there for great juiced drinks.

We go to South Pine whenever we have guests and any time we feel like having an especially yummy breakfast or lunch. There's usually a bit of a wait on weekends, but the wait is worth it.

If you want a unique breakfast or lunch menu you must go to The South Pine Cafe in either Nevada City or Grass Valley. They consistently surprise and amaze with their fresh and creative ingredients and dishes. This cafe really reflects the Nevada City/Grass Valley heart and soul.
