Great breakfast and lunch spot

South Pine Cafe has some of the most interesting and delicious breakfasts and lunches in Grass Valley. Yesterday I had the Lobster Melt sandwich and it was delicious. Just a block off Main this cafe one of the best breakfasts my wife and I have eaten in long time. Service was prompt and good. Great place to eat.

We enjoyed the burgers here. We sat at the bar because it was quite crowded on a Sunday, and the food was very good. The waitress was darling and very charming. It's one block off the main drag, so you might miss it if you're just passing through. Receommended!

Went here on the recommendation of a shop worker in town. Good call! Thai chicken wrap was delish and wife was happy with her french toast with strawberries. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, too. Solid service as well. Will return.

For my money, this is the best place for breakfast in Grass Valley. Between this place, and their sister location in Nevada City and my other favorite breakfast spot, Ike's Quarter Cafe -- we have some amazing options up here! Their food is imaginative and very tasty. If you're looking for just plain eggs and bacon, perhaps this is not... More

We used to live in Grass Valley and Nevada City and relied on the South Pine for consistently good food. As vegans looking for healthy options, we could always count of this place. The food is incredible and whether you have special dietary needs or enjoy a traditional meal, South Pine delivers. The two locations offer an in-town vibe and... More

Great selection of Hamburgers. The food is very tasty, and the eating area is in a "funky" setting. The management is very accommodating. A fun place to have lunch with a good selection of dishes.

My wife and I stopped here en-route to Reno, Nevada and had brunch, we both had the "Blackstone Benedict." Eggs Benedict is one of our go to breakfast/brunch dishes, and without a doubt this is the best we have eaten, anywhere in the world. Apart from the usual fixins, the thick cut bacon was delish, but the star of the... More

I ate here for the first time and thought it was very good. The menu is very specific--not your standard Waffle House fare. If you can find something you like you won't be disappointed. I had the carne asada and eggs. It was served with potatoes, tortillas and pico de gallo. My dining partner got the veggie potato boat with... More
