Our vision is to provide a comfortable, friendly, neighborhood cafe where our guests enjoy Latin flavors of the lower Americas in their traditional style. Diego's recipes are freshly made; from the warm homemade bread that starts your experience, to the guacamole, salsas and sauces that accompany your meal. We consciously source quality local products that are friendly to our environment. This includes free range, naturally-raised meat without antibiotics or hormones, as well as sustainably raised fish. We also purchase organic produce whenever possible. We do not cut corners here at Diegos, and our guests see the value in our quality.

Great dinner

Found Diego's on trip advisor. I can't imagine why it is not number one. The cuisine was every bit as good as I have ever had in South America. It was absolutely full of guests and yet the service was prompt and courteous. Definitely on my radar for our next trip to Grass Valley.

We had a great meal here after a day of hiking Mt. Shasta and then driving across California to Grass Valley. We were treated to great service, reasonable prices and a very pleasant experience. I had fresh lemonade (with crushed ice and a hint of lime) which was delicious and refreshing. We split a plate of chicken, garlic mashed potatoes... More

Had dinner with a group of 16 on a Saturday night. We were placed in a separate room that comfortably accommodated all of us. According to my friends, mixed drinks and choice of beers was very good (I was a DD for the evening). The bread appetizer comes form of freshly baked 'balls' about 2-inches in diameter. The accompanying soft... More

In Grass Valley we are lucky to have many different types of restaurants, and Diego's South American food is a nice change. We have eaten here several times, and it never disappoints. A bonus with this restaurant is the covered outdoor patio, perfect for days and evenings when the weather is nice.

The food is really good and the eclectic decor is peaceful and somehow very reassuring! The staff is exceptionally friendly, also, though, as many have said before, the service is slow. If you just realize that before you go it doesn't bother you as much. Our favorite menu item is any one of the panqueques.....South American food as the average... More

I made it in for my second visit to Diego's with my family and was quite pleased with the flavor and quality of the food and desserts. All of the adults ate some variation of the taco special (fish, steak & chicken) all of which were flavorful, light and tasty. The kids had PB&J and chicken strips, which they enjoyed... More

My boyfriend and I decided to stop here on our 10th trip on hwy 20. It was our first time stopping in grass valley for lunch so we didn't know where to go. From here on out we will not stop anywhere else. All of the sauces were so full of flavor and the tiny bread balls where fantastic. We... More

We stopped here after reading reviews and looking for something different. Chilean food sounded pretty good so we stopped in at Diegos on a Thursday afternoon. It's a funky and eclectic mix of all sorts of stuff inside. Really kind of cool. Outdoor sitting in available and the smallish front dining room is separated from the rear dining room by... More

Great lunch, great food, great service, great time with friends, will definitely return. Empanaditas with guacamole and salsa with a side of cole slaw were very tasty, rellenos excellent, lamb skewers and grilled chicken very good, nice sides and salad.
