This is a good option for Japanese food. Good but not great. My husband enjoys their sushi. I usually have chicken teriyaki or the kalbi (Korean short ribs) platter. I don't like their tempura much, but that is true of many Japanese restaurants that I patronize. The batter and temperature are very important when it comes to tempura and many... More

The fish was not fresh at all. The tuna had a smokey flavor that I have experienced at cheap sushi restaurants before. My guess is it is added in there to mask the taste of old fish. The vegetable udon was ordered by someone in our party who has been to Japan and she deemed the dish authentic. I would highly recommend this... More

When my fiance wanted to go to Takenoya in Goleta, I was hesitant. I am not a sushi lover. To my great surprise, sushi is only a small part of what they have to offer. Many Chinese and a wide variety of other dishes lace the menu. I had the beef teriyaki which was well portioned and delicious. The meat... More

It's not even almost authentic Japanese food. But It works. They have great prices.
