Excellent Sushi!

This restaurant is in northern Goleta, has lots of parking and makes the best sushi around! You can't go wrong. It's not fancy, but if you're looking for a nice, reasonably priced meal, this is it.

Having lived in Japan and returning stateside I am always looking for what I cannot find...The authentic taste and atmosphere of Japan. I finally found it. It feels like someone plucked this restaurant out of the middle of Japan and set it right here in Goleta employees and all. Other restaurants are good but they miss the unique flavors and... More

I spent a lot of time in Japan, living with Japanese families. I learned the food. Itsuki has the food. I'm impressed that they can serve a top notch meal at the sushi bar, and turn out multiple homemade broths for Ramen, Udon, or Soba noodles. They do the work of what would be multiple restaurants in Japan. For what... More

if you want great service go elsewhere, but the food was really good. Started with edamame and 2 orders of gyoza. Great start. Very slow service, 4 of us were there for dinner, 3 received their entrees and waited 15 minutes for the other. All the sushi was very good, California volcano roll was great

My family and I were on vacation and craving authentic Japanese food. The concierge at our hotel recommended Itsuki, which is located in a strip mall. We enjoyed delicious traditional Japanese food, with attentive service. We were greeted and seated right away. The wait staff checked on us frequently. We enjoyed our meal so much, we went back for lunch... More

If you like traditional Nigiri and Sashimi or just traditional style rolls, Itsuki is the only place in the county I would recommend. Some of the other menu items were not that amazing. The ramen is nice, the yakisoba was pretty good, the chicken teriyaki was subpar, but the sushi is good. Most importantly the rolls are actual cuts of... More

I have been here 4 times; twice for lunch and twice for celebratory dinners. As with most Japanese food, it's expensive! Since we were celebrating birthdays and I love sashimi and rarely get it, I have ordered the sashimi combo twice. Both times it was presented beautifully and extremely fresh. The sake sampler is fun and "pretty"...the lighting is nice...the... More

Went for an early dinner mid-week with a extended family of 7 including two young children (5 and 2 years old). Wait staff were attentive as there were not a lot of people around when we first arrived - very close to their opening time. It was a surprise to see many more trickle in over the course of our... We waited for close to 10 minutes to be seated despite there being plenty of open tables. The staff barely even acknowledged we were waiting and not because they were too busy or understaffed. When someone waitress knew walked in she had the audacity to ask us “can I skip you and seat them first?” I said sure…and we walked... More

As in off the beaten path but worth the trip. A friend took me here recently for lunch and it was a pleasant discovery. Food is fresh, tasty and has eye appeal. Make the trek, it is well worth it. This could be your next favorite for Japanese fare.
