I left the Santa Barbara area over 20 years ago after having lived here for 20+ years, during which I often dined at the Beachside. So I was surprised by the very negative reviews by some. I decided to check it out during my current visit. I made a reservation for four, requesting a table by the beachside window. Upon... More

We went for lunch arriving at 2:15 so most of the lunch crowd was gone. We had a wonderful table inside by the window with a view of the beach. There is also an outside eating area. I ordered the salmon with the green papaya topping and coleslaw, both were delicious. My Mom had the fish and chips that were... More

As they say, the better the location, the worse the food. I go all the time, but usually sit at the bar, have a beer and enjoy the top notch view. The food is predictable and unspectacular. No healthy dining options here. If they would ditch the current menu, and come up with some fresh, ocean view worthy food, I'd... More

We were on a road trip vacation and felt like something light for dinner. It was getting late and dark so we chose the Beachside Bar-Cafe. Service was very good and we were seated at a window table. The view of the beach was great as we were treated to birds hunting for a late night snack. I ordered crab... More

I have always loved this place but last time I went, I found out they had removed my favorite dish from the menu. The coconut shrimp very fantastic! They will certainly be missed.

This restaurant has prime real estate right on the beach. Such a waste! The staff is nice, but the food is just ok. When your front door is the ocean, your seafood should not be just ok. Nothing was local, and not much was regional. I would not eat here again with all the other great local, delicious choices.

This place had a lovely position overlooking the beach. We sat at the bar as it was happy hour and enjoyed cocktails and shared a plate of calamarie. I would have loved to return for either dinner or lunch.

The setting is wonderful - right on the beach! I had the pork which was fantastic! Very juicy, flavorful! The kitchen had a couple mishaps with my companions meals, but mine was wonderful!

The first thing that struck me was the wash off light coming through the large windows and sun roofs. Mirrors are also used which add to the bright, cheerful look on a sunny day. Good food. My daughter had the tri-tip cheese steak sandwich and salad. The salad had varied leaves but want too "weird" for her unsophisticated pallet. The... More
