Popular Beach Restaurant

We had a reservation but had to wait 30 minutes for a window table. We sat outside and had a good view of the beach and the pier. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Went with my fiancé and a friend. We sat at the bar. On this particular evening, it seemed all staff had a trainee with them. Within 20 minutes of sitting down, we had ordered food and drinks. We ordered muscles, and the waitress responded that they would be right up, as they were already cooked. 25 minutes later, we asked... More

This place has been here since I was at UCSB in the early 90's. After going back to visit campus on a recent CA trip, we needed a place for lunch. We were disappointed not to be seated on the patio even though they had tables available but the lanai was a decent compromise. Service was friendly and the food... More

This is a bayside restaurant. We were not skking a gastronomic event, just some food. Wow! The pricing was reasonable; the staff were great, and the food--calamari, and a spiced, marinated chicken breast were perfect! Wine reasonably priced. We'd go back in a minute. Fun evening.

We stopped for a quick break and stayed for the grilled artichoke and California wines. Great view of islands and will recommend!

There's no questioning that the best thing about this restaurant is its location. From the main dining room, you can see the ocean waves crashing onto the shore. It's so close that it almost looks like you could reach out and touch them. I asked the server about the paella, and was told that it was one of their specialties.... More

Found this place based on late night availability. Took family out and and enjoyed the food. Friendly service, great views and prices were right on point. The only complaint I have is the tea was kinda weak,,, but I'm just nitpicking now. I would recommend this place for the beach location and the delicious clam chowder.

We were surprised how good this place was. We really knew nothing about it, we were just hungry and our kid's iPhone led us here. Right on the beach which was great. Food was actually not spectacular but was good without being over priced. Cocktails were fine. In spite of being quite crowded, service was good.

I left the Santa Barbara area over 20 years ago after having lived here for 20+ years, during which I often dined at the Beachside. So I was surprised by the very negative reviews by some. I decided to check it out during my current visit. I made a reservation for four, requesting a table by the beachside window. Upon... More

We went for lunch arriving at 2:15 so most of the lunch crowd was gone. We had a wonderful table inside by the window with a view of the beach. There is also an outside eating area. I ordered the salmon with the green papaya topping and coleslaw, both were delicious. My Mom had the fish and chips that were... More
