Outback Steakhouse, Goleta, California

Typical Outback Steakhouse. Not worse than the others but not better either. Seems to me they have changed their steak cuts sometime in the last year or so. Got the Rib Eye which is usually pretty good and noticed that it was not as thick as they used to be and not as tasty either. This seems to... read more

A chain is a chain is a chain but this restaurant is the very worst for food, service, just plain caring about the customer. I thought 3 was a charm and we'd get a good meal and good service on our third try. Nope, if anything it was worse than the first 2 tries!

6 of us went there at 4:00, it wasn't busy. The host sat us down and said "we are short on staff today so it will be 5 minutes before your server can come by". Understood, at least he managed expectations. Started with the Bloomin Onions which were pretty good as usual. Our table had ribs, salmon, pasta, soups and... More

I don't like to write poor views but I took my family to Outback a few months ago and the food was soooo boring. My steak had little taste, the entire dinner was forgettable. The wait staff was pleasant and prompt and they did their best I cannot fault service but the food...just not up to par with competitors.

I hadn't been back the an Outbreak Restaurant in many years and now I remember why. The server recommended the Rib Eye which I remembered used to be much thicker. I asked if their Medium was red in the center and was told it was just like the picture. What came was somewhere between medium-well and well done. It was... More

The food and service at this Outback Steakhouse in Goleta are better than average but a little less than very good. I had the steak and lobster today for $21.99. The steak was a little under-cooked but seasoned nicely. The mini lobster tails were tasty but also a little under-cooked. The bread was nice and warm. It was busy because... More

Always consistent chain, never disappoints. Food always fresh; sides such as broccoli can be made without butter, etc.

We had a large party with a variety of orders and special requests. Our server handled all of them accurately and ensured bread, butter and drinks were replenished. The drink orders were a bit slow in arriving.

We dine at our local Outback once or twice a month and it's always good so it's no surprise that the one in Goleta lives up to the reputation.

This was just another Outback Steakhouse. The good part about a chain restaurant is that you know what you're getting. The bad part is that they're all so standardized that you don't get any local flair.
