I have been going to Elena's off and on for over 20 years. I had been out of the country for the past 3 years and upon returning to Glendale I invited an old friend to have lunch here. The food is still as excellent as it always was. The portions are large enough, the food is tasty and fresh,... More

We were directed to this restaurant by some local friends who joined us. I guess I am not a Kabob enthusiast. Although the portions were more than adequate, the food was OK but nothing special. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. The pricing was reasonable. That's about all I can say about this experience.

Our friends invited us for lunch at Elena's on Glendale Avenue. I ordered shish kebab and lulu which had a salad on the side. Very generous portions and nice flavor. However, there was audible fighting among the servers at the back. Too bad because the place was nice, the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable.

We were going here for several years to eat, and were about to be physically attacked by owner and other stuff there for getting upset to the waitress who came and yelled on us. If you want to taste this food then make sure to take your gun with you, because you may get attacked physically. I have a witness... More

As I mentioned in another review, good kabob places are a dime a dozen in Glendale. In fact, there is a pretty good one right across the street from Elena's. So when I come here, I don't usually come for the kabobs. I come for the one entree on the menu that I can't get anywhere else: the grape leaves... More

Glendale has no shortage of Armenian restaurants, but it is interesting to try the variations (Lebanese/Armenian, Greek/Armenian, etc.). What I like about this restaurant is that it is completely unpretentious and the focus is on serving good homemade food. I particularly like the lentil soup. This time both my husband and I ordered item #10 (1/2 shish kebab / 1/2... More

I've lived a five minute walk from Elena's my entire life (35 years) and until this month had only visited it once. My boyfriend wanted to try it and we have been twice in two weeks. I can't believe that I have lived on Acacia all of these years and I have not become a regular. The food is wonderful.... More

I finally tried this restaurant and can’t wait to return. The menu offerings are many, including salads, soups, meat, poultry & seafood kebabs, gyros, rice, stuffed grape leaves and more. I am happy to report that the shish kebab, lentil soup and falafel are superb, delicious and perfectly cooked, and the service done with a smile. The portions are generous... More

I grew up eating Armenian food and I have to say that this restaurant cooked up the best I've ever had. The flavors and seasoning were subtle and nuanced. Best of all the lamb was not overcooked and the rolled grape leaves were tender -- no need to chew 100 times to get them down. On Yelp this restaurant gets... More

Yes they really, completely forgot my order! I went in the restaurant around 7 pm. I ordered No.8 Salmon Plate. They took my order so I waited. After 25 minutes, a couple came in and ordered. I started to wonder what happened to my order when they brought out the order of the couple that came in after me. So I... More
