Authentic Mexican food in Glendale, CA

We have visited La Cabanita several times with family and friends. The food is excellent and they provide a wide variety of authentic Mexican food. The service people are very friendly and attentive. My favorite item is that they have Modelo Especial on draft. The other members of our group had... read more

Started out we called and there messages said they were closed for the holidays, it was the 7th of Jan. We called the number for booking the whole restaurant and they were shocked the message had not been changed. We were told no reservations were needed but we could call at six and if there was a line we could... More

The menu has so many dishes on it that you won't see in your run of the mill Mexican establishment. And; the dishes are executed wonderfully, with crisp and sharp tastes and textures. My Mole was outstanding. Every one of our tables servings was devoured with great relish and considerable enjoyment. It takes great skill to produce great and interesting... More

My family and I ate in La Cabanita the week it first opened back in 88 or 89--can't remember the year, but the place had only been open for two or three days. A couple started the restaurant using recipes from their mother/mother in law "Grandma Jimenez". Mrs. Jimenez had been a cook for wealthy Mexican families in Mexico City.... More

If you want Mexican food of the type you might actually find in Mexico, look no further. In addition to delicious things like Chiles en Nogada, or vegetarian offerings that I've seen carnivores happily devour, like their tacos vegetarians, I'm pretty sure they've discovered the cure for the common cold. Their Caldo de Pollo is fantastic. And I could drink... More

They have a wonderful luncheon with low prices. The dinners are a wonderful combination of entre's sides that make dining there like being in Old Mexico. It is always good to see Mexicans eating in a Mexican Resturant, it means that the food is as good (or better) than their mother used to make. LOL. Their drinks are a bit... More

Ordered food to go & was disappointed in the fare. I ordered from here based on many recommendations of how excellent the food is. The best part of the order was the Caldo soup which was worth it.

I went today with a friend and had an incredibly disappointing meal. The restaurant was highly recommended for its mole sauce. I ordered the chicken mole. My friend ordered the chicken fajitas. She asked if they made the fajitas with chicken breast. They assured her they were. When our meal arrived, they didn't bring any of the small items, guacamole,... More

The food at La Cabanita isn't the typical 'Americanized' Mexican food. They stick to their roots and serve faire from a different region of Mexico. This is not to say that you can't find your favorites, but there are a lot of delicious twists and hidden gems on the menu to be discovered. Great margaritas, too!

It is like a visit to Mexico City. The service is wonderful. Salsas always delicious; margaritas are perfect.
