I spent the night in the most Eastern part of Glendale, largely industrial and downscale. I was staying at a hotel (unnamed here) just because I had neglected to make a reservation and took what was readily available. Since the TV sound, the toilet, and the WiFi didn't work I went for a walk. Imagine my surprise to find a... More

A group of us decided on a late night snack at Scarantino’s Italian Restaurant in Glendale. It’s a sixties-era family-run old place with a huge local following. We shared a two-person antipasti salad (which was enough for the five of us) and a couple of thin crust pizzas. Add in some very good house red and we were all set.... More

This was a nice old-fashioned neighborhood Italian restaurant. The prices were perhaps a little more than someplace with less quality, but I had a great meal (perfectly cooked Chicken Voldostano stuffed with ham and cheese) and a couple of beers to wash it down. The staff was very friendly, the waitress quite knowledgeable, and I can see myself returning. The... More

I love Italian food. Scarantino's is a family owned and operated restaurant that opened in 1967. This place has an old world comfy feel to it. You can dress in blue jeans or coat and tie. And not feel out of place. The staff was great and proud of there food. They were more than willing to talk about it... More

I worked in Glendale, CA for several months, and one of our favorite places to eat lunch was Scarantino's. They have a great selection of food from pizza to pasta. The prices were very reasonable for the volume and quality of each entre. I had the Italian Sub sandwich which is one of their specialties. Plenty of parking and friendly... More

We enjoyed eating lunch there today and meals were plenty large, especially for a lunch portion. There was a great selection of traditional and not so traditional choices. Our waiter did a great job keeping our water glasses and coffee filled. He was very polite and helpful recommending items from the menu.

A local recommended this restaurant to us. We liked that it has a long history. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive but not overbearing. He gave us ample time to decide and also gave some advice as to the different dishes we were choosing from. The minestrone was very good. The salad was adequate. We had the... More

My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at Scarantino's a few nights ago. We both had their homemade minestrone soup and fresh salad. I had the canneloni filled with beef and ricotta cheese, topped with meat sauce and a mornay sauce. It was out-of-this-world in every way and served piping hot. My husband had their pepperoni pizza which he... More
