Zankou in the eighties was a true delight , the more fame it gained the lesser quality the food became. the falafel is never done right , the oil is used over and over again . the tiny bleached chicken they use costs over 10$ and hardly fills 2 people . Sorry i won't recommend this place.

I really enjoyed my lunch at Zankou. I got the the tri-tip shawerma with tahini and hummus, warm pita, and onions and tomatoes. Oh, and these really awesome little peppers! I think now I should have tried the chicken since that's really what they are known for. However, I got plenty of food, though maybe slightly over priced--I was visiting... More

Each time we are in L.A., our must and first stop is always Zankou Chicken. We've been coming here for more than 18 years. We always order the half or quarter chicken plate that comes with hummus, tomatoes, pickled turnips, garlic spread, and warm pita. You combine all those in a sandwich pita and get ready to be amazed. The... More

Excellent place to eat, and it's cheap and healthy. I always get the Shawerma Chicken Plate with humus, salad, pita and the garlic spread they give you. I eat there, and I take one to go for eating later. I can't describe it, you need to try it yourself. I will return again and again it is right down the... More

Always love to come here for a quick bite. Love their wraps. I specially love their garlic butter. Yum.

I understand that good cooks in Armenia are "born knowing how to roast." Surely that is true. The chicken is tender & flavorful. You can get the size of order you want from small to large at very inexpensive prices. It comes with a garlic butter for dipping & pickled turnips as a condiment. I am glad they finally got... More

The chicken is tasty, but I can't say that it is any better than any chicken I've ever had. And it certainly does not justify the price. For the money, I would rather have Dinah's chicken in Glendale. However, the garlic paste is very good.

This place has beef, chicken, and vegetarian felafel with hummus, salad and pickled turnips. The best meal is their half chicken, but for a lunch you can get their wraps. You can get more expensive Armenian food but none better. It is fast food but fresh and tasty. The only thing fast about this food is the service.

My go to place for takeaway. Although there are an increasing number of locations around LA, I still go to the standby at Verdugo and Wilson. Though close to the office and home, it's tough to make it all the way without sneaking a bite. Staff is great. Ambiance is, well, fast food. But the chicken is great and the... More

Zankou is not a restaurant; it is fast food and it is the best fast food I have ever eaten. I love Armenian/Persian/Iranian food to begin with, so liking Zankou's food is easy. But is is also good by any standards - - - it is real food made to taste fantastic with spices and unusual combinations. The meats are... More
