The yummiest papa a la huancaina in LA

I have been to this place several times and I can say that papa a la huancaina here is for sure the best in LA. Also they have nice lomo saltado. Personally, I didn't like chupe de camarones here - there was added some weird fish and it didn't seem quite authentic. Otherwise, the drinks are... read more

My wife and I enjoy eating out. This restaurant is actually around the corner from our home. We walked to the restaurant and it is not what we had expected. Both dishes were a little too salty for us and I am not accustomed to picking cracked shells out of my entree. Some of the chunks of meat were a... More

Friend took me here for lunch and I was a bit skeptical so I ordered the daily special which was the Arroz con Pollo (Chicken with rice). First came the soup and it was done just right, quite authentic, though they could have used regular corn instead of sweet corn to give it a more authentic taste. Then came the... More

Fresh bollios w/ seafood dipping sauces. Got the Malaya skirt steak- very flavorful; arroz marisco yum too; their winner in my book is the salsa criolla - I m an onion hater but this I love! I know it's purple onion but doesn't taste like onion - love the way they pickled it- Limey perfect. Decor modern, staff a bit... More

This is the Peruvian Rest I will recomend , if you live or visit around this area.We went today for a Peruvian Breakfast, the best food to ask for this purpose is: "surtido" that is a juice made with various fruits, very good, then a "pan con chicharron", that is fresh bread with pork and come with fried sweet potatoes... What can I say I fell in love with this place! 1st time I picked this place off of the internet. It was my welcome to the office luncheon with my new boss. This place gets pretty packed for lunch so it must be good right? It was delicious. The portion are huge a lunch plate can easily. I ordered... More

Inside is freshly updated and modern. Menu is extensive, includes the typical items that can be found in LA Peruvian mom and pop restaurants and some other things less common, like anticuchos of beef heart, and Chinese-Peruvian dishes. Of course people complain that it is 'expensive' but it is not really, considering the huge portions. During weekday "Happy Hour" they... More

In the South Bay in L.A. there are few Peruvian restaurants, but the one that sets itself above all of them is EL ROCOTO, located on Artesia Blvd and Normandie Ave, in the city of Gardena, Ca. They have been opened for several years now, and they have won a few awards. The food is first class and abundant. Although... More

It's being a while since my last visit. Yes, it was remodeled and the menu was slightly changed but some dishes were still the same somehow.... Well, I'm glad to say that it kept improving and it's a place I'd like to go more often now. If you have not tried this place yet, well, what are you waiting for?
