The restaurant is off the freeway in south central Los Angeles. Nothing to draw you in as you drive by. But the barbecue is terrific! My regret was there was no place to eat it. The wait staff is friendly and willing th explain the menu. The rib tips are the best I have ever had. Next time I plan... More

Its just a tiny place but I always go out of my way to get BBQ here. you will love it! Keep in mind this is not a sit down restaurant. there are picnic tables outside but it is basically order for take away. you have a choice of how spicy you like it mild medium and hot. definitely worth... More

I checked this out because it had great reviews on various websites and was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I'm picky about my BBQ since I'm from Texas, but I must say it was surprisingly good. It is definitely Memphis-style bbq which is all about the sauce. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was excellent. The meat was... More

I go here when I need a bbq fix. I usually get the pork sandwich with hot sauce. They will ask if you want mild med or hot when you order. Get a side of beans or slaw too. And if you are really hungry the pies are tasty. The ribs are great too but a bit messy if you... More

A hole in the wall, but flavorful BBQ! Nice and messy!

I have been going here for almost 30 years and sometimes this bbq is the best and sometimes dry with very small ribs. You never can tell when its going to be good. The hot link dinner and the bbq beef sandwich are good though. People from all walks of life eat here from the suites to the hard hats.... More

My husband and I visited Southern California for a few short days, but made it our business to make a stop at Jay Bee's after seeing it featured on triple D. The pulled pork sandwich was off the hook and the potato salad was the perfect pairing. What they lack in ambiance they make up with taste and quality. We... More

The place is nothing to look at, but the food is absolutely fantastic. We decided to have "take out", and so when our faces were a mess with that wondeful BBQ sauce, we didn't have to worry about anyone looking at us. It is just great and you should not miss this place if you like BBQ. The location has... More

I enjoy a BBQ beef sandwich with medium sauce. Hot link sandwich hits the spot as well. If you're in the area try it for yourself.

After getting ramped up on all the hype surrounding Jay Bee's BBQ - INCLUDING a spot on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives apparently, my friend and I decided to brave the Los Angeles traffic and take a drive to lovely Gardena for lunch. Jay Bee's certainly qualifies as a Dive, but my experience is these places have some of the most... More
