Great Place for Udon

I love Sanuki no Sato. We always went to Sanuki no Sato weekly for lunch when we lived in Torrance, CA. After we moved to Northern California, we still visit Sanuki no Sato when we come down. I love their tempura, nabeyaki udon, tonkatsu, beef nanbanyaki, the mini donburis, and so on. I can go on and on. The broth... More

If you want traditional Japanese food, this is the place to go. No fusion style, no other ethnic influence, just the "real McCoy!" If you care to take your dining experience to the next level, they even have authentic Tatami rooms for your pleasure. The food is impeccably prepared and delicious. The service is A+ and the staff go out... More

We came to Torrance because my wife had to do a Board Certified Test at the Person Professional building. We decide to get a hotel and have dinner before her bug test the next day. We wanted some sushi or something Asian. While checking the reviews and location we decide to go to this restaurant. The food was GOOD, it... More

We ate our quick lunch last week and found that their udon was excellent and set lunch was quite good in any standard. On our return to Los Angeles this week, we hesitantly try the Sanuki No Sato for dinner. We thought that the worst can happen is to order similar dishes as our lunch. The place was packed upon... Overpriced, snooty staff and yet this place is packed. Unbelievable. Used to come here for lunch all the time. Dropped by for first time in a year, this time for dinner. The gozen was $36 and not worth it. The tempura cold, the chawan-mushi bland and the dashi for the small udon not as good as before. Staff look like... More

Had lunch here with family and you know it is a good Japanese restaurant when there are lots of Japanese customers. The entrance had pictures of various celebrities who have eaten here. The menu is varied, with hot and cold versions of their famous home made noodles, all reasonably priced. They had a very refreshing iced Barley tea. The Soba... More

What I like about this place is the homemade noodle dishes. The broth is perfectly seasoned, and there are so many noodle variations you can choose from. What is rare is that they serve the cold Japanese barley tea which is really uncommon in restaurants. All restaurants that I know serve cold water. I had the tempura udon, and they... More

When I crave for Japanese food, sushi is not my first thought. I think of other dishes such as Udon or Soba noodles. Sanuki no sato was very simple in a wonderful sense. I was very pleased with the taste and the several people I interacted with from the moment I entered to the moment I left. It has a... More

The restaurant is located in a strip mall on the corner of 182nd and Western Ave. We arrived just before they opened and I wondered about the place because the parking lot was empty. Two other groups arrived immediately after us and started assembling by the front door. There was a slight hesitation in getting us seated, but once we... More
