The first time I went to Mae's Cafe, my mother and I were having breakfast and it was absolutly delicious! We were sold that this was gonna be our regular spot. Then the 2nd time we went it was absoulutly awful!!! Food was disgusting and the coffee was not only cold but it tasted like it was yesterdays batch! I... More

Went here once back in August 2013 and one more time lately during my trip to SoCal. Good food and reasonable price, but don't expect some 5 star quality food. I enjoyed my meal, a steak with turnover eggs and lyonnaise potatoes (ate breakfast and dinner) overall.

Not my lucky night, we ordered the special of the night pork chops (very dry with overcooked green beans; maybe from a can?) I ordered the steak skillet with baked potato MEDIUM. The 1st try was bloody red and I returned it. The all American waitress showed me the ticket and it stated "M". The 2nd time the skillet was... More

Our hotel was about 5 minutes from this hidden gem. During our 6 night stay we ate here for breakfast three times. I don't have one bad thing to say about it! Food was great, waitstaff was so friendly, and most importantly, they kept the coffee coming! Wonderful little diner!!!

I've been going to Mae's since i was a kid and it was called John's. i've since converted many many people on making this place there own and never had one person dissapointed. give it a shot at least once. i suggest the john wayne or the country fried steak and eggs. Enjoy!

Mae's is a great little place! I was quite surprised when I read "food critic's" review. Mae's is not a fancy restaurant but a friendly neighborhood style "Diner". It's about as close as you can get to an east coast or mid-west "Diner" type restaurant in this part of Southern California. It may be a little short on "ambiance" but... More

This place is HORRIBLE!!! I have gone 3 times and each one of my experiences horrible. The first time i went i had a male server, he had no character at all, he was a little rude when asked about menu selections, like we should have known what everything was. He took way to long to get our order and... More

I went there today for the first time with my co-workers and I like the place! The food is fresh and taste like home made. They do not put too much salt and other spicies to make the food tasty like most other restaurants, but they use the best fresh and quality ingredients to make the food taste better. The... More

Compared to the like's of Denny's, Carrows and other family diners/cafe's this place blows them out of the water. The food actually has flavor. The prices are much better. And you can't beat that feel of home when eating at Mae's. I have been a customer for years and will continue to be.
