Nice intimate atmosphere, superb waiters, delicious food. One of the best desserts I have ever had! Try the bread pudding.

A place to take out of town guest that you want to impress. We've been many times either for dinner or just for wine and dessert. Service is excellent and friendly. Regular menu and specials always present difficulties in choosing. There's often enough to take home (and we wouldn't want to leave a crumb). The eggplant tower is amazing.

This is easily the best restaurant in Fresno. Chef Vatche, does everything right. The scallops pappardelle are to die for. So is the eggplant, the bread pudding, and if you are lucky enough to be there on a night he has shrimp and grits...get them, you won't be sorry. The thing I like about this place is that it is not... For those pseudo snobs who say "I never go south of Shaw!", you're missing out. Located in Mission Village, this elegant little Jewel is famous for (are you ready for this?) their bread pudding! Even those who claim they don't like bread pudding, exclaim how delectable it is! I had the scallops. I don't get scallops very often, so this... More

Very pricey, but a gourmet menu. Attentive & knowledgeable wait staff. Because of $$$$$, this would be a dining experience for a very special occasion.

It's fashionable in decorating to talk about a room that "pops." Well, this is food that "pops." It's flavorful, with a zippy, tantalizing taste: my fish, for example, with a perfect grilled exterior, like a crust, but not a crust, with some sort of indescribable Pacific Rim marinade/sauce. The Cracked Pepper bread pudding dessert, which they're famous for, has a... More

Cracked Pepper is by far my fave in Fresno. It's small, local, delicious food. Don't go if you are trying to save calories! They are know for their bread pudding, and yes, if you have room after dinner, it's worth it. You need reservations, but sometimes we just come in and eat at the small bar. Makes me feel like... 1st off, let me start by saying that our server was good. Now onto the worst dining experience we've ever had. We were sat at 6:05 p.m., and left at almost 8:30. It was just me and my husband, just a party of TWO. I ordered the braised short ribs. I tried to cut into it with their STEAK knife... More

Cracked Pepper Bistro is in a mall on the SW corner of Shaw and Fresno, and one really has to be looking for it to find it. It is relatively small and reservations are a must. The food is uniformly excellent; we have eaten there a number of times on special occasions and have never had so much as a... More
