I ate here periodically when I lived in Fresno, but had not eaten here in 6 years, so wasn't sure what to expect. Our server Chelsea was delightful. The dinner entrees were substantial but not huge (which is nice). Both my husband and I enjoyed our meals tremendously; we almost returned the following night. The glazed chicken with mushroom bread... More

I've come here many times over the years and the food is average. So why do I go here? Cause it is convenient and in a nice part of town. The food is average and the feel of the place is upscale, which makes a difference if you are wanting to just get away for a meal out with ....... More

Came for lunch with friends...ordered the grilled salmon salad, med rare ...and as my server brought it to the table, she looked at it and said....I think its overcooked! I smelled that it was overcooked (overcooked fish is fishy smelling!) and it was remade. So of course, I ate a lot later than my friends.... there was no compensation offered... More

Excellent food, lot of fish choices, the room is filled with art work, nice feeling. The servers did a great job could not have been more helpful. It is a bit loud but there is limited seating in the back for a small group of people to eat and visit. The fish Chowder was wonderful

We came for my husband's birthday his ribeye came raw....far from medium rare. My halibut came with black rice and honestly white rice at home is better it wasn't even seasoned. He had to send his back, so we ended up eatting our meals at seperate times. Not very romantic. Sad that we spent money on that.

We had the most interesting appetizer here. Three types of French fries in three delicious sauces - the ones cooked in a garlic oil were my favorite. A beet salad with oranges, goat cheese and fried prosciutto was also terrific. Crab cakes were fried and were served with burnt edges unfortunately. Restaurant has an appealing ambience and the walls a... More

My wife and I have frequented Max's on numerous occassions, from birthdays and anniversaries to a normal date night. And each time we enjoy wonderful service, charming ambiance, and delicious food. But our most recent was special. We decided on Max's for my grandfather's 88th birthday. My grandparents live down on the central coast, so I was given the job... More

No wonder Max's has such a loyal following in our area. Every time I've eaten there, it's been a pleasure. The wait staff is great and knowledgeable. There is always a great crowd of people eating in the stylish dining room. Lively local art, colorful and cheerful surround the perimeter of the room. Large groups aren't a problem with a... More

with ample parking and ease in finding, Max's keeps your stress down. When inside, the relaxed atmosphere creates an atmosphere of relaxation. If the food wasn't so good, it could easily flip to an upscale bar, but the excellent cuisine selections keeps it in the upper crust of restaurants. I had the meatloaf and it was delicious. Service was professional... More
