Long time favorite for lunch or dinner...most recent, a business lunch suggested by a colleague from Kansas City who had been to Max's before and suggested again...ahi tuna tostada was terrific, so much so, he suggested taking a photo; as always service impeccable; I suggest reservations, as usually busy for lunch and dinner.

Ate here with a business group, invited by a friend who lives nearby and is a regular. Food is good but pricey for what it was. Very popular place among well-off Fresno professionals.

By-and-large, the food here is high quality, creative, and well-prepared in an atmosphere that's not snooty. It has enough hipness to be interesting and a down-to-earth staff that makes dining pleasurable. Yes, it's more expensive than Cheesecake Factory, but less than Fleming's or Ruth's Chris. The art by Tomas is also quite colorful and insanely expensive, but makes for interesting... More

We have been here a couple of times and have always enjoyed the food. It's busy during lunch, Business meetings at one table, A group of ladies, and couples. Service is excellent. Now for this you are going to pay! It's probably one of the most expensive lunches in town! It does have very good food though!

Arriving late one afternoon driving from Yosemite with our 14 year old grandson, we decided to try Max's based on location and TA reviews. We called and got 5:45 pm reservations for a Saturday night. By the time we finished dinner almost all the tables were full. We enjoyed the brightly painted metal pictures and other trendy touches. Our table... More

I took a few clients to Max's for lunch this week. They had never been there before. Max's staff take the extra time to do it right from when you arrive until you leave. Lunch choices were very good and their daily special (Wild Fresh Halibut) was very tasty. Only a few restaurants in Fresno/Clovis come close to the dining... More

This was one of our favorite dining experiences of the year! You wouldn't know it from the outside, but this is a great restaurant when you step in the door. Great service, huge selection of wine, creative menu with lots of options. It was a overall excellent experience and I'm looking forward to visiting Max's again!

The food, ambiance and service are impeccable. This chef is unbelievable. We love everything on their menu. We frequent this restaurant at least 3 to 4 times a month.
