Confirming that the Foster City Harry's Hofbrau is closed. Work on the lot to open a new hotel and conjecture about a new restaurant has been published in the local newspapers. Won't be The Carvery/Harry's second coming. Redwood City is still hanging in there.

Great little bar/diner. Full of locals who like to chat and catch up on the soccer. Great gin martini's as per Tom Rumble

My husband and I started going to Harry's before we were married over 50 years ago. This is the original. We were so sorry to one in Redwood City. We were so glad when the one in Foster city opened. My favorite was a pastrami on a onion bun, dipped. With a green salad, pickles and carrots. We were so... More

I think the food is very good, my wife and I enjoy coming out on Saturday and having Prime Rib, it's a very good meal for the cost. The serving staff are very friendly the cashiers could be me helpful and friendly.

We went there on Sunday night for Prime Rib. The prime rib was cold and had been pre-carved and was sitting on a steam table. There was no juice left. The mac and cheese was very starchy without much taste. Don't wait for service (no one will talk to you). Choose your own table and head up to the cafeteria... More

A great place to get away for an informal lunch during the work week. With the walk up cafe style service an seat yourself and lots of TV's it is great on your own. With a group good as well because pay up front and no worries about all arriving at the same time. Service is not fancy but friendly... More

What do you get when you take a 1960's cafeteria into Bavaria? You get a German-flavored institution that serves enormous amounts of better-than-average cafeteria food for not too much dough. Over St Patty's day their corned beef special (we did not try) but you could see how generous they were and how lean their corned beef was. My wife and... More

A hand carved sandwich or a meal plate, this place is a great, traditional Hofbrau. Eaten here a couple of times and always happy. It is like walking into a restaurant from an earlier era, sort of that traditional look. Quiet enough to talk in without shouting, but the food is the attraction. Want a thick cut pastrami on rye...
