A good pub

We ate in the bare and had a great selection of locally brewed beers. Food was good pub fodder with an overlay of local seafood which was a bit pricy for what it was.

Put hot bread and cold beer in front of me and I'm happy. Also tried the calamari (yum) and steamed clams (double yum) with more piping hot bread for the clam broth. (triple yum) Small place, cozy, a little crowded. My only change would be to change the classical music. It's a pub, something more lively would better fit the... More

The calamari steak was absolutely delicious and paired well with the pale ale. Yum! My husband is a big fan of all of their beers. There's also a nice gift shop attached--comes in handy on cool days when you forget to pack a sweatshirt.

We don't know if this place has changed hands, but our once favorite spot while visiting Fort Bragg, we will now avoid and go somewhere else. Not only have the prices gone up by more than 30% for some dishes, the quality of the food, and service were terrible. It's pretty bad when you have to constantly try and flag... More

This place was confusing to us...we tried going into the building with the signage, but it is not a restaurant....then we walked across the street to the Tap Room. Not a huge menu, and I never ever sit where I can see into the kitchen...but no luck here. Our waitress was wonderful, and we ordered the shrimp and chips and... More

Scrimshaw is my favorite beer, so it was a pleasure to stop here and sample their other beers. We did not partake in any of the food, this was strictly a beer stop during happy hour. My wife enjoyed her sampler selection and thought the Thelonious Monk to be the best. I tried the Blue Star and Red Seal. Nice... More

We had a great meal and an award winning brew "Scrimshaw" they have a Beer sampler; showing off their own selections, which was lots of fun as well, there is nice garden area with some outside seating with heaters, It was a fun time for the entire group, we will be back.

What a treat. Very busy place, but service was great, food was wonderful. What a treat in a small town. Atmosphere and gift shop were also good.

Negative reviews are something it is really difficult for me to write, because I'm in the service industry myself, and I know how hard people work when they are getting paid minimum wage and surviving on tips, so I am reluctant to ever give a bad review. However, in this case, the experience was so bad, I feel the need... More
