While vacationing with 8 friends in Fort Bragg the week after the Thanksgiving weekend, we decided we had to try the number one rated restaurant in town. The atmosphere is beautiful and the seating was nicely spaced. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, from braised shortribs to rabbit on fettucine to steak and pork chops. The potato leek soup was outstanding and... More

We had an excellent meal here on Oct. 17. The service was very good. My wife had a special salad and scallops [an appetizer] for her main course and raved about how they were prepared and tasted. I had the trout that came with a bacon/potateo hash, veggies, salad. We had a nice glass- or two- of wine [Husch] and... More

My wife and I went as part of a package from a local B&B. The restaurant was superior to the B&B. We started with scallops... very nice with pancetta and chantrelles topping and served on a base of a sweet potato patty. The quail was a bit under-seasoned but the vegetables were nice. The venison was delightful with the red... More

Mendo Bistro in Ft. Bragg offers the most excellent cuisine on the whole Mendocino Coast. The menu completely changes every month, and the "specials" change nightly, including a soup, an appetizer, an entre, a flavor of mashed potatoes, and a gelato flavor. Every item on the menu is produced from scratch. A good little restaurant upstairs at the "Company Store",... More

We walked into Mendo Bistro minutes before it closed last Sunday. We were treated very warmly, not felt rushed or "end of the evening" blaas. The 3 of us ordered a vaiety of proteins, all delicious, all organic and locals ingrediants. I would recommend anything off this menu. Finished up with mint-basil gellato, truely refreshing.

After spending the day at Glass Beach, we went into this wonderful upstairs restaurant! The people were so nice and friendly. We had a window table. The food was delicious! I had the Portabello Mushroom and my husband had the Pork Shoulder. They were wonderful! The fresh hot bread was plentiful and was refilled upon request. Dessert was delicious! I... More

The food is spectacular and pricing is very good. Homemade sauces are just wonderful. I haven't tried anything I didn't enjoy to the fullest.

Thanks is how I would like to start my reveiw. My sis and brother-in-law were visiting from Boulder Colorado during July, 2010. I, having moved here 3 months ago, had heard great things about the Mendo Bistro from my neighbors. I decided to give it a try. The three of us made different choices for our dinner--pasta, pork chops, and... More

With an 11 year-old we usually avoid places with "bistro" in the name. Fortunately, finding a place to eat in downtown Fort Bragg at night was not easy, so we ended up at Mendo Bistro. The setting is really cool: a Morroccan theme in a restored old building. The food was complex, well prepared and artfully presented. Service was friendly... More

My wife and I had dinner there on Sunday April 18. We went with high expectations because of their high Zagat rating. We got there about 7pm--there were only about 10 tables of people. There were 3 people waiting tables. They were friendly but not very attentive. Service was slow. Dinner started out well enough with steamed mussels and a... More
