Much better than it looks

Ft. Bragg really needs some mid-range restaurants. Everything is either expensive or closes at 2pm. Los Gallitos is a typical Mexican restaurant. You sit at a table and order from a menu. I stopped by on a Saturday evening to confirm all the rave reviews. There was no table available and restaurant was very hot/humid and not conducive to comfortable dining. We elected to order take out. It took 30 min to get our food which was 3 items. Non meat nachos were deep fried chips covered with some salsa, watery retried... More

We pulled up to the restaurant and my husband turned to me and said, "Um, I don't think so". The restaurant is in an old strip mall and the restaurant exterior looked a bit tired. I told him no, the reviews say this place is really good. Besides the hamburger joint we had driven by had a line out the... More

This is a small, busy cafe. It's not fancy, but the food is quite good. Many locals eat here regularly. My favorite meal is fish tacos.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the front desk staff at our hotel. It is a really small little hole in the wall place with authentic Mexican food. It took us a few minutes to get a table but when we sat down our server was very friendly and helpful. The fish and chicken tacos were great. Everything seemed... More

We had a very good meal here. The menu is pretty extensive. Seating is limited. They do have a limited selection of beer available as well. Note that it sits back from the street and the signage is not all that great.

Loved the fresh salsa and chips while we waited for dinner. The chimichanga was delicious and topped with guacamole and sour creme. Had to save half for later. Nothing fancy about the restaurant and seating, but the food definitely satisfied. Would have gone back if we hadn't left the next day. Excellent value as well.

Los Gallitos is a Fort Bragg favorite among both guests and locals. The food is very good, especially the tacos and burritos. Order ahead of time to avoid a long wait, as the restaurant offers limited seating. They also serve breakfast too. Keep in mind that they only accept local checks and cash, no credit cards.

This one was recommended by our hotel staff. Like all the best Mexican restaurants this one is a little hole in the wall. The staff was friendly and the food excellent. Because the are so busy it does take some time to get your food but the wait is worth it. Definitely going back the next time we are in... More
