Every time we come up to Fort Bragg we have at least one dinner at The Purple Rose. Always a local favorite, The Purple Rose is first come, first served and cash only. Very good Mexican food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Good drinks with a generous pour without those touristy swimming pool Margaritas with dumb little umbrellas. This is... More

Brought my family here on a weekend. Was really disappointed as I told my family that the reviews here were overall pretty good. Place wasn't super-busy, but service was slow and rude. First of all, it took forever just to have our order taken, the adults all got Margaritas, which took quite some time to get, one of us got... More

Everything was great. The service was great. Great salsa. Try the chile relleno, best I've ever had. The margarita was delicious and very strong! Might help to expand and add another bathroom but that's not why we went there, so no big deal.

good food, killer margaritas. Service is very good, and a lot of locals go there, so I recommend it.

We were camping at the State Park and decided to treat ourselves to a dinner out. Every time we drove by the parking lot was full so we decided to give it a try. Although it was crowded the service was very good and our dinners came out very quickly. All of us were very satisfied and although it wasn't... More

Food is okay, a little bland but typical of a California Mexican place catering to white people. $9 for the three Taco plate is nice plus $2 for a side of beans. This is the best Mexican place in Fort Bragg. They have a talented bartender who knows how to make good margaritas, even the well margarita is very good.

We have been coming here for years whenever we are in the area. The food is more American-Mexican style the real Mexican, so don't expect authentic Mexican food. But it is excellent and plentiful. The restaurant includes a small bar and as much Mexican cliche as you can expect in one place. Hats, chintzy Mexican artwork, calendars and other items... More

From quesadillas to chimichangas, chicken tacos to burritos, we enjoyed our meal and paid under $40 for 4 people. Friendly, responsive staff. Worth the few more miles' drive north.

One usually gets seated right away. Staff is very attentive to your needs. Good atmosphere with great food. And if you like margaritas these are probably the best I have ever had. If you do stop by one should go and look at the ocean views all along the coast. Hwy 101 I believe. Have fun and enjoy a lot... More

The Purple Rose has been open since the '80s. I had not been there since '97. The food is still great. The drinks are generous pour. The décor is over the top fun! The staff is long-time dedicated locals, and new staff are inducted into the spirit of excellent, friendly service. Hats off to this establishment.
