The Most Perfect Meal?

Quite possibly. The freshest warm asparagus soup. Coconut tuna ceviche. Grilled octopus to die for. Tender Alaskan halibut over English peas. And a chocolate salad for desert. Yes it's true. A salad of chocolate for desert. A variety of chocolate flavors, textures, temperatures. Off the charts.

Very disappointed with our meal here. Service was inconsistent & slightly odd. There was no option to use local or American wine in the pairing which is strange - isn't that what we're all here for??? The wine that was chosen for pairing was good but not even great. The food was average. No evidence of a Michelin starred chef... More

We wanted to LOVE this place, but it didn't feel like it was worth the money. We had two other nice meals in the Sonoma/Napa area that we thought had better food and were far less expensive. It is definitely a special occasion restaurant - very "chi chi." It wasn't a bad meal, but it didn't live up to the... More

As someone who has a passion for cooking, lots of experience eating at high end restaurants, a fairly critical view of fine dining experiences (I am looking to be impressed), I would say that our experience at the Farmhouse was good, but not great. The hospitality was fine, if not a little stilted...maybe trying a bit too hard...the room was... More

The service was very good and thats about all I can say that was very good. The atmosphere is simply ugly and really needs to be redone by someone who has some taste. From the very weird painted mural to the hideous carpet, horrific mirrors and the chairs. Really hard to enjoy our meal having to look at the place.... More

This is my second visit to the Farmhouse Inn, both times we experienced poor service with this restaurant. We had friends visiting from Hawaii. I spent the entire day talking up the restaurant and service. We arrive at 5:20, a few minutes early for our 5:30 reservation. The staff totally ignored us, stared at us and went about their business... More

Let me start by saying that we made a reservation to dine here months in advance. Since we had lost track of the days on our vacation, we inadvertently showed up at the Farmhouse on the wrong night. We were horrified with our error, but the restaurant was so cordial and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. The... More

In my experience, a special prix fixe dinner on Valentine's Day is usually a recipe for disaster. So I was apprehensive when I saw the menu at Farmhouse on the day before Valentine's. The only choice was a special 3-course dinner with wine pairings for $179 per person, plus a mandatory 20% gratuity. There were almost a dozen choices to... More

It was my wife's birthday, so I did not mind paying $13 a glass for the Roerdoer sparkling wine. [Actually, I bought the same stuff for her it when was $17 a glass.] After that, I had 2 Chardonnays and 2 Pinots that complemented the crab starter and the entree, respectively. The food and wine are fantastic. Bring a good... More
