A terrific neighborhood restaurant with classic French cuisine!

Chez Daniel is always an interesting dining experience. Any review has to be in two parts - the experience and the food. The dining room is very intimate with about ten tables. The entire operation is run by two gentlemen with extensive restaurant experience. One does the cooking, the other... read more

I loved this place, granted only went 4-5 times a year, but called to make my birthday ressies and it has been replaced by a new French place. Completely different in every way and have not tried it yet, but it is on my to do list : ) Just thought I'd let people know Chez Daniel is no more.... More

French cooking. Small and cozy restaurant. Great waiter with fine knowledge of wine. Charming. No credit cards. Cash.

My wife and I read numerous reviews, of which, most were favorable. We found the evening to be a great time and fabulous food. Yes, the service was a little slow, but we planned for it and used the time to enjoy the food and slow pace. The food was excellent. The evening would have been perfect except we had... More

none of the reviews before mentioned reservations required, or walk-ins not allowed, nor children neither accommodated mor tolerated, nor they are cash or local check only! We must have had the same snobbish faux french manager who greeted us! condescending arrogant wannabe that will never be! we left this "#1" Folsom restaurant and had an absolutely wonderful dinner at the... The restaurant was started by a French chef who retired briefly from a downtown Sacramento lunch only place from which he developed a reputation for excellence. After considering retirement he decided to open up a small, intimate French style restaurant in Folsom. It is a unique place for dinner, to say the least. The owner is the only chef and... More

Food is fantastic. very French - the food, the service, everything. things to consider at this place. 1. better to wear a tie. 2. they only take cash. 3. need reservations 4. service is slow - plan on a long dinner. 5. you can BYOB but there is a corking fee. 6. your waiter may determine who gets what -... Made a reservation for our anniversary this year for this special occasion and was truly amazed. Small intimate bistro, with superb staff, excellent food, and fabulous wines at very reasonable prices. This was by far the best food and overall experience in any restaurant that I have had in the area. I would highly recommend for a special occasion. This... More

This is by far the best quality, taste, and price you will find anywhere in the Sacramento region. I have been to The Kitchen who so-posed to be the hottest thing in the area and I can tell you Chez Daniel by far out cooks those so called high end chef's any day of the week. I love to eat... More

What a great restaurant. Fabulous French gourmet dinner. And in a true French style. Don't go here if you want a quick dinner. Our Friday night dinner took 3 hours. and a bit more because we chatted with the chef at the end. It's just the waiter and the chef. Estimating perhaps seating for 40? Think about two people handling... More
