Nice quaint place for dinner

We ate here for dinner. The service was nice and atmosphere was great. I had the beef medallions and my husband had the elk. Both were good, not great but the desserts were awesome and made the meal. Nice little place outside of the park. Probably should have stayed here instead of our B&B... read more

Quaint. Adventuresome food. The early-bird special for dinner is very attractive. Staff most attentive.

Food and service was great! Easy access from Fish Camp and the Big Creek Inn, were we stayed. Good wine list!

We had been here once before, and made it on the last night of the season they were serving food for the fall. This time, we had elk and venison, a lovely split of local 2009 merlot, and bread pudding and homemade plum cobbler, Everything was excellent, the atmosphere was magical as is had snowed that day, and they are... We called by chance and found that they had an early diner special between 5 and 6.30pm. The restaurant is set in a woodland area and we had a bird feeder just outside our window which provided entertainment. The staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful with information about the history of the area. I ordered the steak which melted... More

This restaurant was truly quaint, with a handsome interior. Kerosene lamp-lit, white table cloths, wood walls and paintings give it an elegant, antique and very cozy feeling. But the food-- amazingly good! I had the flavorful Chicken Marsala and my husband the Mixed Seafood plate. We were very happy with the food and service as well as the home-made, Plum... More

We stayed at the Narrow Gauge Inn for one night and had breakfast here before leaving. Simple but high quality, with amazing surroundings! Just what we were looking for - a very "authentic" log cabin feel. Friendly staff too.

Top notch, excellent service. Food was excellent-trout and prime rib. Atmosphere cozy and quiet. We really enjoyed our evening there and would definitely return and recommend. Still remember what a nice evening we had there.

Stopped there when retourning from our day at Yosemite NP (we were the only one in hiking outfit, other guests seemed to stay at the inn). The service was great, the food was ok but overprized.

I really wanted to like the NGI. It is very attractively situated and cosy and welcoming inside (if a little dark in the 'main' room). Also, I can't fault the service which was impeccable throughout. The only let down was the food (which is fundamental for a restaurant methinks). It wasn't awful, just uninspired, on the bland side and very... More
