Food was exceptional and the staff, pleasant and friendly. We had a lovely windown seat (quite in demand, but we booked months in advance) Made for a most enjoyable evening.

One of the things I enjoy most about traveling is after all the infinite planning, scrupulous research and attention to detail, you can drive into serendipity with a wrong turn. My son and I were returning to camp after a day at Yosemite. The day started very early and we had expended a great deal of energy hiking into all... More

The Narrow Gauge Inn was the perfect combination of outstanding, friendly, knock-your-socks-off service, beautifully prepared food, and a quiet, enjoyable place to talk and enjoy friends. They took reservations for a small group of five which was a challenge at a number of other options. All of us drove or flew in from different long distance locations to celebrate our... More

This restaurant served us with a delicious evening meal that could not be faulted in any way. The steak was tender and exactly as described on the menu and our waiter was so efficient and professional.

Rustic elegance, with excellent food. We loved the decor, wine list and delicious meal. We hope to be back.

This restaurant is within the Narrow Gauge Inn, but is obviously used by many not staying at the Inn. We were there on an early September Tuesday and it was almost full. Our meal lasted over two pleasant hours with good views of the forest and ridges beyond. My wife had Chicken Marsala, one of the specials that night and... More

And a bit retro.... This roadside spot is nestled in the windy wooded road on the way to Yosemite. The food was delicious and properly prepared; after a perfect martini, we tried the Elk filet and rainbow trout. The portions were just right and the service and ambience were spot- on. This was an excellent choice.

There are few options in the area but NGI is worth a visit. Very friendly at the bar. Food was OK, beers good, service good.

Staff and service was wonderful, although it was very quiet in the restaurant and service was so efficient it was almost over zealous. Couldn't fault the staff though - they were helpful and friendly. The food however, was disappointing. We ordered burgers which were plain to say the least. Incredibly basic, overpriced and not worth it. Given the calibre of... More

We were staying at Narrow Gauge Inn just south of the spectacular Yosemite National Park and dined at the restaurant on our first night here. Our server was very enthusiastic and friendly (although there was some confusion with us wanting to share the Caesar salad as an appetiser - instead we received an enormous - but tasty - helping each)....
