Quiet and relaxing

We enjoyed a quiet evening at the restaurant. Our waiter, Thomas, was helpful and attentive. We enjoyed a delicious appetizer especially prepared by the chef du jour. We had the table side Ceasar salad (not seen very often these days)-quite good. I had the Filet Oscar-delicious. My husband had the... read more

Stood at maitre d' counter being ignored for a few minutes, then had us sit and wait for another few minutes on a wooden shelf (!) before being called into a practically empty restaurant! My starter was pork belly which was bearly warm (or warmed up!) and the accompaniment was a white gloop and slices of what looked like apple,... More

Their menu lists several vegetarian options including cheese. However, after checking with the chef their cheeses contain animal rennet and are, therefore, not vegetarian. Lovely setting and friendly staff. There is a tofu item on the menu but the pore score is really for the misleading menu.

We had the breakfast buffet provided at no additional cost with our room in the Lodge. Was terrific. We were greeted and promptly seated upon arrival. A waiter came right over and took our tickets while soliciting for drinks. The buffet is huge and complete--but be aware that it has two separate lines with different selections. Among the two lines... More

Dinner was very good We had the salmon and garlic mashed potatoes. Beautiful setting with two sided fireplace, white tablecloths and lovely dimmed lighting.

The food here is ok, but the service excellent. It is always very busy which is annoying when you just want a drink, but I don't know what the solution is for this. The servers handle the craziness with grace and humor.

Although the restaurant has a limited menu, our waiter Thomas was excellent. Our evening started out with adult beverages, then he prepared a Caesar salad tableside that was very good. The evening was paced accordingly and Thomas knew when to bring out the next item or to see if anything else was needed. I ordered the filet Oscar and it... More

I think many of the reviews have the restaurants at Tenaya are mixed together. Embers is Tenaya's version of fine dining. Its an attempt that falls short of the mark. Service was kind of rough and unfriendly, and also slow / inattentive. They have a tableside ceasar salad. One of my daughters wanted a salad for a starter and the... More

Good food and large portions. They were very willing to substitute for us. We may try the grill next time.
