The service is okay but the prices are on the high side for the area. The food is over spiced over cheesed. I would much prefer traditional Italian cooking to what they serve here.
Since our usual pizzeria is closed on Mondays, we decided to give our local Mama Mia’s a whirl on Labor Day. A couple of years back, a neighbor became ill after eating pasta with clam sauce there, and urged us to avoid it. However, we’d heard that it was under new management, and figured that pizza would be a safe... More
Great Experience. The new management can be seen in the improved service and food. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good. I had the calamari with lemon pasta which was light and filling.
After a wonderful evening in Carmel at the Monterey Symphony we came here for a delightful dinner - the atmosphere was just beautiful! The service was prompt, the food prepared perfectly - he had short ribs and I had the lamb - FANTASTIC! There was enough of the lamb dinner for 2 more meals the next day, and absolutely delicious,... Although I had heard very good comments from several neighbors that had recently and frequently visit Mama Mia's, I was stubborn and wouldn't try it due to negative reviews I read online. Finally, after one more person I knew raved about it, my husband and I decided to try it after years of not stopping in. I thought the experience... More
OK, so I moved to California from New York and thought I'd never ever find pizza I approved of. I was wrong. Mama Mia's is it. Besides that, their standard dishes are dependably delicious (canolini is to die for), and the spiced butter for the breadsticks is soooooo yummy. I've had good servers and great servers there -- depends on... More
Visited this restaurant while staying in the Scotts Valley area. It was recommended by our hotel for good Italian food. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. I got the Fettucine Alfredo w/ Chicken. The chicken was rubbery and chewy and didn't taste how chicken should taste in my opinion. The sauce was not thick AT ALL and seemed... More
We are so lucky to have such a nice restraunt in our community. It has fantastic food, great wine and the personnel are pleasant.
We live nearby, and friends suggested this neighborhood spot located in a strip mall next to a Safeway grocery store. We've tried it twice, and both times have been disappointed. The menu is certainly broad enough, and the service is friendly, but the quality of what comes out of the kitchen is pretty poor.
