Drove up E. Zayante Road to grab some dinner at the Trout Farm Inn. Sat out on the deck by the creek which was very pleasant on a warm summer day. The inn is more of an upscale burger and sandwich place but has some tasty dinner dishes. We started with the Caprese Salad with tomatoes and mozarella arranged on... More

Went with friends for the $5 dinner specials. OK, it was edible, filling and cheap and the service was terrific and the waiter was cute. It wasn't great food (my husband and I both hated the mac and cheese) but the chicken and rice and his trout ($10) were quite good. The key lime pie was good and there was... More

For the past few years, our friends, who live in Felton, have mentioned the Trout Farm Inn for dining, but said their past few experiences were horrible. BUT, this past weekend, we went for brunch with the kids (ages 5 & 3.) Primarily, because after brunch, we could go to the pool, which is right outside. What a laid-back experience!... More

Any restauranteur would fall over backwards to have their joint packed on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. The Trout Farm is doing a promotion that is almost unbelievable. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they are featuring $5 dinners. That's right - no typo here - FIVE DOLLAR DINNERS! I've been several times (I only live 1/2 mile away!), and I'm always... More

We visited on a Saturday night and the place was busy at 7PM. We were seated right away but if we had showed up 30 minutes later it might have been tough. But that's unusual; I'd say that 99% of the time, you'll have no trouble getting seated. The service was really perfect. It's clear that the folks who run... More

We went to eat dinner and listen to a band. We had steak and veggies, a cheeseburger, macaroni and cheese (home made) and a kid's burger. The steak and veggies were cooked perfectly. It is supposed to be served with mashed potatoes, but I had the potatoes subbed for extra veggies. The cheeseburger was really good too, but my husband... More

My sister and brother in law came to town, and we decided to have dinner somewhere we could watch an important football game. The staff positioned a table special for us so we could all see the TVs. They were more than accomodating. Usually we go for a weekend lunch and I love the BBQ blue cheese burger. This time... More

Hadnt been here for many years. Last time a few years and owners back it was pretty bad. Much improved. The pork loin special was good. The entertainment fun. Can be noisy when the band is playing. Fun spot for folks visiting the SLV area.

Great food, fun people and an awesome pool in the summer. This is definitely worth the extra 5 - 10 minutes from Scotts Valley or Santa Cruz. They got best bar and best burger in a voter poll for the Santa Cruz Sentinel in fall 2012 and it's for very good reason -- it's true! Awesome salmon dishes, and the... More

Not too many places around here where you can purchase an affordable day pass for the pool club, eat a sandwich and enjoy a beer while the kids play and still catch up with the email. This place is not fancy like a big city country club but it is clean, friendly, and lots of fun.
