Great pub, good food, nice waiters

We stayed at the Eagle Victorian hotel, and it was pretty much inside the hotel. We arrived late at night, on a rainy, blustery evening. It was a warm, inviting place to have a pub meal, play trivial pursuit, enjoy company.

My wife and I have eaten here several times - the only reason for us to visit is when we feel a need for fish and chips. This dish is their most consistent, but has come out of the fryer under-cooked for us on one visit as well. The batter was still raw under the crispy outer shell...They did, however,... More

Small , clean, good variety on menu. Was not happy with Shepard's pie but other items have been outstanding. I would recommend this location to everyone since it is friendly and great menu. Open 7 days and in this town, that is great. Visiting, GO there. Night they have music. Been there several times and always left happy.

The food is good, the beer and atmosphere are grand, but the Irish music is superb. Seabury Gould is gracious in accompanying the remarkably talented Evan Morden on the fiddle.

Atmospheric place with walls loaded with authentic decor, at-home feel, good solid wood furnishings. For a few bucks more, take the halibut option for the fish and chips - 3 large pieces you will not forget.

We stayed one night in Eureka, travelling on the California coast road. We had a casual dinner (beer, fish sandwich) and it was very good. The place was large and full of people. Very festive atmosphere. Reasonable prices. It was located in downtown Eureka and we didn't see a parking lot, but there was plenty of parking on the street.

Ex co-worker coming to town so someone suggested get together on Sunday at 2 PM. We filtered in without reservation and not sure how many would show up. They finally realized we weren't group of 20 that had reservation. They set us up in bar area until we got more organized. After 9 showed up they said a table in... More

The waiters are so friendly and nice and the atmosphere is perfect! The building is so charming. The deep fried oysters and onion rings are seriously the best I have ever had. The oysters the some of the best I have ever had and you could tell they were super fresh. The batter is light and crispy which makes them... More

Set in one of the old Victorians in eureka, this place has the best food! There is a full bar for those who want a cocktail. The food is delicious. During season they serve halibut and chips, yum. Every Thursday is Irish day, with bangers and mash, corned beef as well as their regular menu. They serve the best French... More
