Expected craft brews and unexpected food and setting

Because it was a brewery I expected interesting beers and Stone Brewing Co. met expectations. What was surprising was its hide-away location at the end of a road marked for hiking trails. it's inviting garden paths, and its Southwestern-zingy, innovative dishes. Glad a friend recommended it, as it... read more

We did a 4 PM tour and decided to follow up with dinner at the restaurant. We started with a Hummus appetizer, which was very generous and tasty. Our server was pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. The special was Albacore tuna on a bed of three beans (green beans, kidney beans and edamame). The entree was a... More

I haven't been to that many breweries, as I prefer wine, but this place is outstanding. A fabulous, attractive open air atmosphere greets you, as you enter the dining area. The covered dining area, which has plants and water features inside, opens out to a tiered patio and grass area. It too has a trickling stream, ponds and waterfalls with... More

First time here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Has an industrial feel yet romantic. Lots of areas for more secluded group dining we would like to take advantage of one day. We were a group of 6 and shared various appetizers and entrees. Everything was tasty. Enjoyed walking the grounds after dinner too. We brought home some of their bbq sauces... More

This place is like a cult favorite... No signs to tell you that you are there. Still, when you find it and park and walk down the tunnel-like entry, the inside is bright and airy, the gardens are spectacular, the food is divine and the drink menu superlative. The shrimp and grits was so good that I stole half of... More

We love the ambiance, the design and decor and outdoors open to all, but I have never had a really great dining experience. The cheddar soup is good, but in smaller doses, the duck taco is good but seems to be pre cooked and frozen rather than freshly cooked duck. Service has always been good. It's a bit pricey but... We had a small family gathering at Stone Brewery in Escondido today. No complaints about the food but our server was not only inattentive but a little rude....probably won't go back!

We have been here twice and absolutely love stone beer. I like every single beer they have from the porter to the light beer. The food is pretty good and the service is great. You must go there if you like craft beer!

Okay -- so if you don't like beer -- perhaps this is not your place! But -- if you enjoy beer and fine food and a lovely garden setting in Escondido -- this is your place! It's big and airy venue -- and it can be loud and boisterous in a fun way. It may not be the most romantic... More

There are more than one Stone Brew Pub, but this is the one. Unexpectedly lush green outdoor seating. As usual, the beer is great and the food to go with it very good. It is a hike to Escondido and considering the main feature is wonderful beer, you might consider taking one of the limo tours that specialize in brew... More
