Always good service, prompt, friendly and attentive. The facility is open and clean, and the prices are reasonable. The food is good, but not special in my opinion. Just so-so. This is why I've given this restaurant an "average" rating.

Love the enchiladas with an egg on top. Family favorite for good quick Mexican sit down meal. Drinks are also good. Has a menu good for the whole family.

The restaurant is a good place to go for Mexican food and margaritas, but the treat is to go for Sunday Brunch. They put on quite a spread. This location is superior to their San Marcos location, so even though the San Marcos store is closer to us, we take the drive to go here.

the meals come a la carte. I had Flautas and the rice and beans were extra. The Burrito also was a la carte and rice and beans were extra. The Deep Fried Ice Cream was massive, so four people had a taste that saved the day for this place. Waitress were a little rushed it seemed also.

We checked out several Mexican restaurants in the Escondido and decided on Cocina Del Charro for its street appeal. I had the steak rancheros with a side salad instead of rice and beans. The meat was just okay mixed with tomatoes. Lynn had a taco and a chile relleno. Normally a relleno is her favorite Mexican dish, but she didn't... More

Oh my Gosh, that was supposed to good food???!!! That was awful!! The ONLY GOOD thing was the salsa. Our waitress seemed bothered by us asking about any of the food on the menu. There were photos of ceviche tostadas which are ONLY offered on weekends. I can only quickly summarize my experience by saying I got a stomach ache.... More

Cocina del Charro is what we call our "home Mexican restaurant" because whenever we want good and authentic Mexican food we inevitably go there. I typically rate a Mexican restaurant by the quality of their salsa, and their salsa is excellent especially with the hot tortilla chips that are served. Their breakfast menu is extensive and we usually custom order... More

This restaurant was, for many years, on a side street in a very dated location. Now they are in a great central location and are up to date on appearance. The food is very good and we always enjoy ourselves there.

Probably one of the worst carne asada burritos I ever had. It was filled with beans & rice which I prefer on the side, but worst of all there were way too many large chunks of diced onions to suit me. The burrito, as well as my wife's tamale and chili relleno were very bland - lacking basic seasonings normally... More
