My wife and I visit Escondido about once a year and Joe's Italian Restaurant is one place we never miss. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The rooms are filled with so many items that the walls are covered with fun items to see. As the food is prepared individually, it really makes the time go by... More

We were in Escondido and decided to go for a nice bowl of pasta. Based on Yelp's reviews, we ended up at Joe's Italian Dinners. The 4 stars are way over rated and don't understand on what it is based. We were expected at least average, but could only give 1 star for service. The service was quick and friendly... More

We arrived in Escondido rather late in the day, had no idea where to eat, and tried Joe's based on an ad in a local magazine. We didn't expect much but were quite pleasantly surprised. When we got to the relatively small restaurant it was pretty late and it was full. But they offered to seat us in a back... More

Enjoyed dinner here on 11/13/2013. Friendly staff, quiet atmosphere. Sidewalk tables are nice. Interior is cozy with lots of Italian kitch; Mama Leeonie would be proud. Food was excellent and lots of it. The tiramisu is excellent. Prices are quite reasonable.

Big surprise birthday party for my SO. We all got there at the same time so it wasn't some grand entrance surprise, but everything worked out just wonderfully. Of course we were probably someone's worst nightmare with a toddler and four elementary school children, plus parents and doting grandparents. But I think we were relatively behaved given the size of... More

Our whole family agreed this was our favorite night out on the va action. Tiny place with to s of atmosphere. Staff was friendly and worked hard. The wait wasn't as long as we'd heard it could be. The good was so good, authentic and reasonable. If you're in the area, definitely go here for dinner, you'll be glad you... More

The place lacks all the touches that make for a good, never mind great, restaurant. The greeting on entry into a very small wait area was cold and indifferent. The cutlery was swap meet quality. The salad was served on a warm dish. The pasta was served on a cold plate. The butter comes in plastic packages as in a... More

We celebrated a birthday with a party of 10. We took up the whole center section of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food portions were large and the prices were fair. We all enjoyed the dinner experience.
