Loved the ambiance and espresso drinks at this hot-spot. I ordered eggs and it was pretty basic...I would pass on that in the future. what did look great, were the pastries. They appear to be home-made, but I cannot confirm.

Stopped here for breakfast - what an incredible building! Food was great and the coffee even better. A must see in Encinitas.

Yes, this place can get busy and parking can be a nightmare so it's not likely to be an every day stop but it is a WONDERFUL special treat. The old train depot is just such a cool building and exploring it a bit is what makes coming here fun and worth doing. There is also ample seating indoors (upstairs... More

Gorgeous old nostalgic building, GREAT cafe mocha with Mexican chocolate, and awesome quiche, pastures and cookies! The only thing that would make it better would be moving the location from right on the highway. With that being said,....still love the place and have probably visited 40 times in the past decade!

Love this place! Coffee is great! The pastry selection is superb! Muffins Yummy! Strawberry/Peach Strudel great! Scone OK...Ambience "A+" . Sat outside on a beautiful late Saturday morning and relaxed.....enjoyed our coffee (which was really good...) and pastries....Quite the selection of many types of pastries...hard to choose......

Whenever I'm in the San Diego area a visit to the Pannikin is a must. It is a converted train depot. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food is amazing. The muffins are HUGE! Come and enjoy!

This place is great! The espresso is wonderful and the food compliments it very well. When we're in town we make it a point to go here.

We meet here. My husband rides his bike in and I drive in with the dog. Prepare for a wait if you are here at regular lunch hour. We usually time ourselves outside the rush. Great outdoor, pet friendly seating! Wonderful looking pastries (I don't eat pastries - wish I did when I'm here) and the Chicken Curry Salad is... More

Have your order in your mind when you get to the end of the line. not a great way to move the clients. could use some upgrading on ordering, and by the time your order comes thru, the coffee is usually cold

At the corner of Athena and hwy 101 there is a great spot for a lazy Saturday brunch. Had hue is rancheros and a steamer plate with the additional meat and avocado. Cute place with a friendly staff. Stop in for one of their fifty or so teas and enjoy the California sunshine with the locals.
