Coffee

Love the coffee here. nothing like getting a cup of coffee and then running on the beach. A little busy early but worth the wait.

Been there for breakfast. The place is really really nice, with a cool terrace to sit outside in a sunny day. The coffee we had was really good, something hard to find for europeans on holidays in the us not used to filter coffee, so we enjoyed a great latte and 2 pieces of delicious cakes (chocolate and rhuibarb -is... From the line and the enthusiasm of the patrons I expected a delectable experience. While in line, you really can't see what they have to offer. It's hard to get your odreder in. My husband was standing in front of me, and I had to get a separate order because his waiter behind the counter was moving too fast to... More

Adorable old train station (built in 1888) and plenty of outdoor seating. It is self service partly (you place the order and get your drinks and then they bring you your food dishes). All bakery items were delicious and everything is fresh!

I just got a pedicure and was walking down the street and saw this place. It looked busy so I went in to try it. I got the avocado benidict. The egg was way over cooked but the flavor was good. And the hashbrowns were under cooked. The service was fine. But it was 25 bucks for just 2 entrees... More

When I feel like cake, I always wish I was standing at the counter in Pannikin. When I am standing at the counter I start panicking because I can never decide what to go for! Over the 10 years that I've been visiting I've tried nearly all the muffins and cakes and I think the best one is the iced... More

I love the atmosphere inside and out. Good thing the weather is so nice in Encinitas, since the line stretches outside the door. But the service is good and fast, and the food is worth waiting for. We like the huevos rancheros, chocolate croissant, and coffee. The bran muffins are good for you but a bit too healthy for my... More

Panniken is housed in an old train station on the 101. It has a cool, hippy/surfer/yoga vibe (par for the course in Encinitas) and very solid baked goods...the corn muffin is heavenly. Not a huge fan of the regular ol' brewed coffee though. It's a little weak for my taste. Worth a visit, but beware:The lines can sometimes get long.
