We stopped to grab a breakfast burrito before surf lessons with Leucadia Surf School. The burritos were MASSIVE and delicious...the tortillas were fresh and very tasty

This place was recommended to us years ago, to be sure and visit when we stay in carlsbad. it's consistently phenomenal and it's always our family's favorite eatery while on vacation. The best authentic Mexican food! I recommend the carnitas and bean burrito or the taquitos. If you are anywhere in the san diego area, you must eat here!

Not the best mexican food as everybody claims. The carne asada is good, but was also cold on one of my two visits. Skip the soggy rolled tacos and the machaca was greasy tasting, even for Mexican standards. They don't melt cheese on the nachos by design, but you should try the carrots in the giant tub near counter. Cashier... More

Been looking for a place like this in the trendy and upscale coastal area around lajolla. You're not there for the atmosphere you are there for authentic tacos ! Delicious. Unpretentious. Stop here when you're just north of Encinitas. Yum!

Forget the "curb appeal" or lack thereof-this place has bars on the windows. Pay attention instead to the long lines of locals and surfers to find the best Carne Asada Burritos around. Eat the house made pickled carrots while you wait-you will not go away hungry or broke. There are MANY taco joints in this stretch of the PCH, and... More

I stopped by for a quick burrito on a recent trip ... I have been going here for almost 30 years ... it used to be bar none the best late night Mexican place in Encinitas ... but since has lost its quality as the ownership family has handed the reigns down a generation. Too bad because it was a... More

My favorite taco shop! Love the taquitos with guacamole and sour cream. The crunchy chicken tacos were a staple while growing up. I have dreams about the Carne asada and carnitas burritos! It's a must go if you're nearby. Open 24 hours. Eat there (not much ambience...it's a dive) or take your food to the beach for a picnic. Or... More

This place rocks. I can't even begin to describe the deliciousness. I've been eating at Juanita's for decades. The food is just phenomenal. Juanita's may not look like much from the outside, but the food is oh so good! Fish tacos Baja style, carnitas that melt in your mouth, shredded beef that is tender and flavorful, and horchata (sweet rice... More

This building has bars on the windows and doors. Don't drive by - stop in and try anything on the menu. Friendly staff - order at the counter and they will call you when your order is ready. There are picnic tables outside or an attached breezeway on the side if you want to eat inside. A selection of salsa's... More

Gotta go with the "street tacos" sans lettuce & filler. Really good! And the 'California' is truly epic. The woman behind the counter....not to be trifled with. Definitely in her element & she is La Jefa. Good food, good prices, looks like a dive but the tacos & everything else here is good eating.
