Loved our evening at this restaurant. Dinners were great. My boyfriend had Spaghetti Portofino. He thought it was outstanding. Very fresh and flavorful, good-sized portion of fish and pasta. I had Cappellaci di Zucca. Delicious! Also very fresh and flavorful. Probably the best pasta dish I've ever had. Warm, friendly, attentive service in the bar and restaurant. Bruce, the manager,... Part of a chain of local Italian restaurants and all are very good. Can be crowded, so make reservations. Pricey, but so is most of California. $40+ per diner to be expected.

The restaurant is small, and the tables are clue together, but the food is very good, and the service is efficient. I have eaten there several times and enjoyed my meals. Encinitas is hopping these days, so it is extra fun to go there.

We visit Vigalucci's every time we are in Encinitas. It's a small, quaint place that always has a delightful offering of mouth watering Italian dishes. The wait staff is always attentive with out being overbearing. Leave room for dessert, tiramisu

The food is very similar to what you get in Italy. This is such a welcome change from the awful Bucco de Beppo & Olive Garden. The restaurant cares & wants to make the customer happy.A very nice dinner!

Time for Tripadvisor to update the name on this one -- Vigilucci Encinitas is now MAURIZIO's, and a spectacular place to dine! We ate here on Saturday night and found everything one looks for in a restaurant -- great vibe, marvelous food, and a highly visible owner who knows both how to greet customers, and how to bus plates when... We have been eating at Vigilucci's for over 13 years. We are now retired in Arizona, but visit San Diego frequently. We ate here last night and the food was as good as ever. Unfortunately, the new owner is very hyper and is treating his staff rudely in front of customers. The once relaxing atmosphere has been ruined by his... More

Small, intimate location on old Highway 101 at the beach in San Diego North County, Encinitas. There are no words to describe the spaghetti sauce here. A great gathering spot for families or couples wanting a fine dining experience. Reasonably priced and filling, this is a great taste of Italy!

We and another couple had dinner at Vigilucci's Trattoria Italiana and it was great! The waiters speak Italian and the food was awesome. We started with the mixed appetizer for 2 (which was enough for 4). The calamari was fried to perfection and the cold appetizer items were of high quality. I ordered the Veal Marsala and to my surprise... More
