Comfort food with a modern twist like the roasted acorn squash soup with chipotle cream

I really like this restaurant - it has a fun vibe and great atmosphere - not fancy but rather nice casual. I love the menu - we usually get oysters to start, which are just great. Then a super nice salad, and a bowl of soup is perfect for a nice dinner. I also love the roast chicken and my... More

Yummy food, great selection of beer and wines, live music. What more could anyone want? There's even a balcony for outdoor dining!

Friends insisted on meeting here. We sat outside, upstairs, because the din inside is fairly paralyzing. We started with cocktails and excellent oysters. Three in our party had fish, all very happy with their choices. I ordered mussels and there's nothing more discouraging that lifting up shell after empty shell. I dug around at the bottom of the bowl hoping... More

This place was full with a mid-30s & 40s crowd. We were told there was a 35 minute wait but were given a table outdoors. The heater was on but could have been stronger. I started with oysters which were good. The sea bass was also good but the sauce was overly sweet. I tried a few bites of key... More

I eat here often and have never had a bad meal or cocktail. I prefer the vibe upstairs. They change the menu with the seasons, which I like.

Solace and the Moonlight lounge is a solid and delicious restaurant choice in Encinitas The food is always very good and expertly prepared. The menu is also very well put together. The salmon dinner is always special no matter which preparation . Their raw Bar selections are also fresh and cold. Salads like the Butternut squash and kale salad with... More

The view from upstairs on the balcony looking down over highway 101 is worth the extra wait. The food is always very good and the place typically has a young and vibrant crowd. I think they have some of the best desserts in town!!

Always good quality and very tasty food. Beef cheeks to die for. Only place where I would eat vegetarian plates, they are amazing.

We just ordered oysters which were just right (good texture and saltiness) then zucchini blossoms, mussels, shrimp and grits, sturgeon and the arugula salad between the four of us. All was spendid. A little noisy for us older patrons but the food was really well done. Worth the schlep to Encinitas.
