Really really good

Our food here was great. I had yellowtail with salad and cauliflower and had absolutely no regrets. The fish was cooked perfectly and it was as fresh as can be. Would go back in a heartbeat. Great vibe too.

To quote Yogi: "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded." I've come here with my family multiple times and it's been great each time, but Fish 101 is a victim of their own success. Hoping for an expansion in the near future.

We go once a week, The fish is always fresh and really good. Best kept secret on the coast highway. Try you'll be there every week.

We had some terrific Ahi Poke here three nights ago. I would have done a 5 star but the fish tacos were just kind of missing flavor. The fish was good but it seemed unseasoned. I wish this was open for lunch!

Informal seating inside and out; stand in line to order, a wait person delivers the meal. I had clam chowder -- just okay, not a lot of clams; but then, we're in SoCal, not New England. Calamari was good, although a lot of deep fried lemon peels masquerading as calamari was a bit off-putting; my brother in-law liked the fish... More

Great flavors, good value, usually quick service, and lots of choices for indoor and outdoor seating. (The airy back deck is our favorite.)Their recent expansion of hours has diminished the crowds waiting to get in at 4 pm for happy hour--the pressure's off. Salads and shrimp sandwiches are our favorites--great fries as well. If you're not there for the $1... More

We learned about this little gem from the internet. We were looking for some dinner and found Fish 101 by chance. When I walked in I must say I was skeptical. I was really concerned about finding a seat. It's not exaclty what I had in mind for a restaurant for that evening. We ordered anyway and a nice young... More

Great fast service, and delicious fresh fish - none better. The place might not be a glitzy restaurant, but it's clean and the service is with a smile. Enjoy your lunch or dinner. Don't worry about the lines out the door, they move quickly and your food comes just as fast after your order at the counter.

The Bad: The Three stars was mainly for a big brown poop vein on my grilled shrimp cocktail. The fish and chips I read about being giant weren't all that big and when I bit into it was a good amount of fried air. The chips (French fries) seemed brittle by the time I got them The Good: The fresh... More

Well if you are over by the coast and looking for fresh fish FISH 101 is a very good stop. The restaurant is somewhat small with limited seating out front on it's patio, inside and out back but adequate. Parking is difficult and best to try and snag a spot on the street, or across the roadway near the railroad... More
