This seafood restaurant is a great little joint and perfectly satiated my cravings for SoCal fare at its best. Fish 101 presented tasty dishes with super fresh fish and shellfish, in a comfortable and unpretentious atmosphere. I like restaurants that spare the white table cloths and put their effort into simple and perfectly prepared food. And a diverse, interesting, good-value... More

Wow. Perfect fish, perfectly cooked - what more could you ask? We were there at a slower time, so there was no wait - I'm told the line is out the door during peak dining hours. I had one of the fish of the day (Yellow Tail), grilled to perfection! My husband had the Mahi-mahi (another catch of the day)... More

A friend and I were looking for a new place to have lunch. Dropped in here not knowing what to expect. Looks like old California beach scene. Wooden tables, beer served in Mason jars. Great offering of local craft beers, good selection of fish done in more ways than I could believe. My fish was done perfectly, large portions, accommodating... More

We enjoy Fish 101 a lot. It is a super casual place always with a line out the door. You order at the counter and then it is served to you. Food is good!! Love the Brussels sprouts too! Line goes pretty quick. They don't have a rule that you only take a table when you order so people further... More

The fish and shrimp tacos were good but not great. Side of skinny fries was large. Nice sides of fried brussel sprouts with bacon and onions and another of seasoned kale. Fish an chip plate was usual cod but good. Clam chowder was tasty. Seemed to be a local crowd. Seating is on benches and picnic tables, inside and out.... More

Great food and fun atmosphere plus we can take our dog Jasper in with us. They even remember him when we go in each week. The menu changes as they feature different fishes and the sauces and menu options let you switch it up so even if you get the same fish each time you can get a different sauce.... More

This place didn't stand out to me. My husband liked his fish tacos. My fish N chips were ok or average. I wanted to get creme brulee but they only serve it at night. Go early the place packs out.

Very casual little place on the Coastal Hwy in Encinitas - - actually Leucadia. Order at the counter and take a number -they'll bring the food to you. Four of us all ordered the Mahi Mahi with different sides and all loved it. The sides vary from brown rice to asparagus to quinoa with mushrooms and more - all very... More

My husband and I were getting hungry on a day trip to the San diego area and as we drove by Fish 101 I had a hunch that this place would be good - was I right! I often judge a restaurant by their fried calamari and this one did not disappoint - local small squid with a light dusting... More
