The food here was excellent! This was the first time visiting this place, we came early which was good since it got crowded pretty quickly. I came with a group of five people, the seating area inside is very cramped but they do have outside seating. The view wasn't very good but it is only a short distance away from... More

The food and service are just ok, the outside tables face the street and the railroad tracks. The clam chowder was tasty. When ordering at the counter, I chose not to leave a tip (I prefer to leave it at the table for the server), I got a dirty look...Not friendly, young lady.

Ok, can we just live here? The fish is fresh perfection, caught each day and prepared in a few simple, but delicious ways. Just ask the guys what they think when you wait for your table up front. Get here early or be prepared for long , worthwhile wait. Be SURE to order a sundae for dessert!

Fish 101 is a small establishment that only houses about 50 people (~20 inside, ~30 outside). This Husband and Wife combo do a tremendous job of delivering great food and desserts in just a small amount of time regardless of how busy it is. If you are not one for noisy, busy places, then this place is not for you.... More

Fish 101 is a sort of offbeat, charming place on highway 101 in Encinitas. You order at the counter and find a seat, and they bring you your food. There is often a crowd, but the line goes fast. We chose this restaurant because, as native New Englanders now living in Arizona, we find that most seafood served in the... More

I plan my day around Fish 101...always my 1st choice for fresh oysters and cold beer year 'round! A southbound excursion from the OC must include Fish 101...or the trip is incomplete...

We're visiting from San Francisco and wanted to try some good local eateries. Fish 101 was close by and had great ratings so we decided to try it. We went for dinner at around 7pm. I must say, the line was intimidating but it went quite quickly. You need to order at the counter and find your own seats. We... More

We had dinner at 101 tonight! Very fresh, tasty, and good prices. Good service, and fast! It's not fine dinning but, we enjoyed it,

The food is very good! The fish is very fresh. Our kids love the fish and chips. The fish of the day is always a good choice, but my favorite is the calamari :-)

Don't understand what all the hype is about this place. The poke was the best thing on the menu. The fish tacos & shrimp tacos were soggy with little flavor. The guacamole served with the entrees was spoiled & ruined the meal. We asked for fresh guacamole & it tasted the same. Obviously the cooks don't taste what they serve.... More
