While eating here I have my 2nd turkey burger ever! I had the Beacons Beach Burger and it was pretty good but I still like a good burger. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

This restaurant was on our to visit list while we spent the week in Encinitas. Nothing on the menu excited me, but I was willing to give it a try based on the other reviews. I would consider this restaurant to be a "new age" Denny's: basic, bland, and boring but with a vegetarian flair. If you want to savor... More

Had lunch here today with a friend. We ordered the chapati salad, hummus (we substituted pita for fresh veggies) and coconut lentil soup. We dressed the salad with their tasty lemon herb dressing. The hummus was not smooth which was fine but it needed something more so we squeezed our lemon over it. The soup eh we didn't finish a... More

Have been back twice to The Lotus cafe. Once for lunch then for dinner. It's always interesting to try out their menu and have a smoothie. Everything we ate was fresh and tasty. It's a causal atmosphere with outdoor seating. You order at the counter and the food gets delivered to your table. If you feel like take out after... More

Upon recommendation of a "healthy place to eat in Encinitas" after a workout, we ended up at the Lotus Cafe. Truly a highlight as far as quality went - the greens smoothie (with protein) immediately hit the spot, and the generously-sized Cosmic Cobb salad was the perfect recovery meal.

The Lotus Cafe and Juice Bar is a great little place on the Pacific Coast Hwy in Encinitas. It's healthy menu lists fresh, well prepared foods ordered casually at the counter and brought to your table or booth. Help yourself to fresh drinking water if you prefer not to purchase one of their many beverages. They were happy to make... More

We decided to have brunch this past Sunday and were surprised to find more choices on the menu than expected. It ranged from vegetarian to adding protein such as tofu, chicken or fish. My daughter loved the "Turger", turkey burger with cheese. The blackened chicken salad was delicious. The tofu egg scramble did require some salsa, however. The shakes were... More

The food here is always delicious and different. The smoothies are made with no added sweeteners, just juice and fruit. We sat outside this time and enjoyed people watching.

If you're trying to eat healthy, the choices don't need to be boring if you come here. They have stuff you'll want to try and you'll feel virtuous while enjoying the food. Plus there's an air of exoticness to the place. Great for yourselves or to share with out-of-town guests.
