Description: Lotus Cafe is dedicated to serving fresh, healthy, natural food at affordable prices, prepared with love, simplicity, and a joyful heart. Our ingredients are sourced with care and are always natural. My husband and I, who are the owners of Lotus Cafe and Juice Bar, have been long-time vegetarians (21+ years). We wanted to create a place where vegans, vegetarians, and my own family (who are not all vegetarians) could come and happily share a meal together. While Lotus is predominantly a vegetarian restaurant, we also offer many fish, chicken, and turkey options, with a fish special every night; there is also a turkey burger for our non-vegetarian patrons. Lotus Cafe is casual and affordable; you place your order at the counter, get your table number, and on your way to your table collect your napkins, utensils, condiments, and help yourself to water at one of the condiment counters. Pick the table of your choice, and a food runner will bring your food out to you. We have ample seating both inside and outside, with a patio in back and seating that wraps around the side and front of the cafe if you prefer to be outdoors. We feel very blessed to be so whole-heartedly embraced and supported by our wonderful local Encinitas community; and we are also deeply appreciative of our loyal following of out-of-town visitors and regulars! If you looking at the TripAdvisor website because you are traveling, we wish you a blessed and beautiful journey, filled with much Joy, Inspiration, Peace, and Well-being! Blessings, johanna & carl

The Lotus Cafe was so good my wife and I had dinner her two nights in a row. Each night we ordered something different, and out of the four different things we ordered from the menu not one of them was bad. The eggplant and and red chili sandwich was probably our favorite followed by the grilled mushroom sandwich. But... More

Nice spot for for the vegans, non - GMO, etc. Encintas / Leucadia style... The omelet I had was really good, and the portions are very generous- very good! - It's self serve , after your food is ordered, so do not come here hoping for table service. If I am paying $13.00 for my meal I just expect that... More

I worked with Duffy, Eric, Aria, and other staff for two back to back corporate group events and they were all amazing. We were not easy customers, however they accommodated us and were willing to go above and beyond to provide a fantastic experience for our guests. The food is awesome and healthy - FRESH! Our clients were thrilled with... More

Five of us, including a child, each had a different menu item. Everything was outstanding from the Portobello Sandwich, Cranberry-walnut Spinach Salad, Burrito, Soup, Black bean Enchiladas, Grilled Cheese child's menu to the large Smoothies. Orders are taken at the counter, but your food is brought to the table. Dine in or outdoors. For what you get, this was a... More

Since I was to be dining alone I wanted to be able to eat in peace so I found Lotus. The staff is friendly and the menu is definitely healthy. This is a great place for people with dietary restrictions. I ordered the Cobb with ranch (no restrictions here!) and it was made with really fresh ingredients. Service is a... More

Just drove in for a snack to wait off the traffic on Friday afternoon and we did not expect that the food is really good! They have all day breakfast choices, sandwiches, soups and salads. They have vegan option too which based on the descriptions doesn't seem boring or untasty. We had the Carlsbad quesadilla and Portobello mushroom sandwich. The... More

Simple, homey, quality food and good coffee. If they could ban small children screaming and yelling and running wild I would be happier. Maybe they should have classes to train parents how to share a common space where people are relaxing. Hmmmmm. Way ugly

We went to Lotus Cafe a couple weekends ago with some friends while we were walking downtown Encinitas, I was pleasantly surprised with the menu and with how delicious everything was - it was impressive! You order at the counter and they bring your food to you, with ample seating inside and out. The outdoor seating is along the front... More
