Very Good

It wasn't as crowded as usual which was nice as we were able to get a table against the open window. Nice atmosphere to hang out, talk & take in the sights. Had a nice bottle of wine, burgers which were big & delicious and a few veg side dishes. Devin our waitress was so nice personable... read more

Our first time to visit this very casual and vibrant place. A great stop for anyone looking for a good Pub style atmosphere that can serve up good beer and quality food. Not too pricey, yet the menu was quite varied and everything at our table was enjoyable. Definitely worth another visit.

We had brunch here last weekend. Lovely place, friendly staff and great food and beer. It's lively here so not a place to relax for a romantic date. Get a table by the window if you can to enjoy the breeze and to people watch. I had the green omelette which I enjoyed, one of our group did have to... More

We liked the cool vibe of this place. The windows are open air so asked to sit by the windows for a nice breeze & good people watching. I had their homemade beignets which were yummy. Large selection of beers.

Whenever my husband, Tom, and I go to Encinitas we meet up with friends here because it's centrally located and right next to the Self Realization Fellowship and Swami's Beach. This is a quaint surfer and hippie-artist community that caters to upscale locals and tourists alike. We ordered their Flatbread with Figs, Goat Cheese, Balsamic Onions and Fried Sage ($13),... We enjoyed lunch off the brunch menu at this lively restaurant with a cool, casul atmosphere. This is not a place for an intimate date - the packed bar area especially gets very loud. There are some seats by windows that open to the street. This time, we asked to be seated in the restaurant area. We shared a salad... More

The Shrimp and grits were amazing. We stopped in Union just accidently. I have been wanting to try this established Encinitas eatery but just never got the chance. It was on a sunday. Lots of noise in the bar area so we wanted to chat and hear eachother so we sat in at the far end of the bar in... More

All diners in our party of 6 were very happy with their selections. I enjoyed a grilled yellowtail atop a rice cake (really good) and surrounded by a spicy Thai broth. Service great, bar area packed and lively - restaurant areas to the side a little more conducive for conversation. Good value and great choice.

Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday. Sat by the windows that open to the street. Great open atmosphere from that seating location. Split the Pork sliders (3) and Chicken Pesto Flatbread. Both had good flavor and the BBQ sauce was not overly tangy. The Manmosa's (sic) were delicious and the Bloody Mary's looked worth trying. Server was very friendly... More

The Union is a casual bar and restaurant. Sat in the restaurant, a smaller room on the opposite side of the bar lounge. It was made up of wood and wine barrels. Decor was cozy, casual, and loved the fact it had two large big screen televisions. The food was a southern style of flavor and was good. Service was... More
