Good food, but good luck finding a parking spot!

Food was good and plentiful, service was very friendly and fast. I would definitely go back again, except it took forever to find a parking spot. Clearly, the locals know this and are very aggressive in diving for a spot....I'd call it competitive parking.

A true diner just like in the "good ole days". One of the best we've ever enjoyed in the U.S. Unbelievably fast service with six people and six different orders. Everyone enjoyed eggs in a variety of ways. Sides or Food was the best and the prices are almost unbelievable, especially in California. I would drive to this diner staying... More

We lived in Encinitas for almost 20 years and would occasionally stop by. Now that we live a few miles to the north in Carlsbad, we still stop by. A few simple things to note. It's great tasting food, with a huge selection. When you think breakfast at a diner, you think eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, potatoes, orange juice. They've... More

Popped in for breakfast yesterday... Weren't too busy, we got seated immediately... Great coffee! Wonderful specials and lots of them! Many different Benedict's... Wanted to try a couple but settled on Crab-cake Benedict, very good, eggs poached perfectly! My wife had the same reaction to her Benedict with Maple Bacon & Avocado! Service was good, the kids are very friendly... More

I'm from Philadelphia where diners are a dime a dozen, and this place ranks up with the best. I've been there at least 10xs and I make it a must whenever I'm in BEAUTIFUL Encinitas. There's always a wait but it's quick. The place is extremely clean and the entire staff is friendly. The chicken macchacca omelette is a must... More

The 101 is a classic dinner on the main drag of the best place in the U.S.. Surfers, regulars and visitors sit at the counter and in booths. The menu is loaded with more choices that you shake a stick at. Excellent crepes and benedicts along with good healthy choices and some nice mexican breakfast options due to the staff.... More

This is my favorite place to go in encinitas! They have so many amazing specials… and they just added a few new things to the board! They recently added a home made biscuits and sausage gravy plate with eggs and potatoes, and my personal favorite… chicken and waffles!! The savory fried, boneless chicken on the waffle drizzled in sweet maple... More

Wandered in on New Years Day, there were only 2 seats left at the counter. The dining room was fairly full as well. We opted to sit at the counter, to watch as our food was being prepared. On of the others at the counter told us we didn't look like we'd ever been there. We hadn't. She told us... More

My wife and I stopped here after checking out of our hotel. I saw it got pretty good ratings and we gave it a try. I had the eggs, bacon and potatoes with some pancakes. The pancakes were a little rubbery, but had good flavor. Everything else was delicious. I would recommend this place. It's right on the main drag... More

Mine and my husband's go to place what seems almost every weekend. Consistently good, reasonably priced breakfasts. The servers are always friendly and prompt. My only criticism is that because the building is very old, the place does not have air conditioning. There is one or two big floor fans but it still does get a bit warm, but I... More
