When I was 16 years old, I worked here but it was formerly the Ranch House back then. New owners expanded the seating area to an outdoor patio. Nice touch. We had the Tower of Power and Denver Omelet. In the middle of eating my egg whites from the Tower of Power, there was some type of blue plastic string... More

There a very few locally owned restaurants in Emeryville and Rudy's was the first name we were given when we asked where to go for good, local food. It is a diner with inside and outside dining and an extensive menu of diner style food including sandwiches, salads and breakfast meals along with homemade desserts which, sadly, we did not... More

Dinner is ok and has a retro dinner feel. The place is small and crowded even though they have a back room they just weren't seating in. I got fish and chips that were soggy. I had to pull the breading off it was soo gross. The fish inside however was good. It came with coleslaw which had no dressing... More

In Emeryville, Rudy's is at the right place at the right time. Surrounded by small businesses and 2 blocks from Pixar, it is usually full, if not crowded, during business hours. The food is solid California diner stuff; breakfast and lunch stuff with good deserts. I like the chiliquiles..my daughter and wife like the French toast, and the burgers are... More

I knew there had to be a better spot than Denny's for late night! And sure enough we come across this Gem! I was stunned by the menu and enjoyed everything about the place. A must Eat while visiting Oakland area

I gave this place a try on a recent trip to the Bay Area. After reading that they had been feature on the Food Network, I figured I couldn't go wrong. I loved the onion rings and my burger would have been much if they used their own special sauce, not regular package mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup. I wanted to... More

I went with two friends and their breakfast came and they ate it and I was left waiting. 10 minutes - 15 minutes- 20 minutes . We asked three times were told "it is coming now", only never to arrive. As we were leaving the waiter told us it would be ready in 5 minutes. This is only breakfast. 40... More

Small hole-in-the-wall place near Pixar which made it even more exciting. The wait was maybe 10 mins during Sunday brunch (around 1045am). The booths are small and uncomfortable as they don't have cushions but the food is very delicious and the portions are huge! One of us ordered the chorizo plate which he found tasty and a tad spicy. The... More

We were in Oakland to see a concert at the Fox Theater and went in there for dinner before. The food was excellent as were the drinks. People watching was optimal, wait staff was terrific. Everything tastes really homemade and fresh! It is quite the gem of a restaurant.

Doesn't matter what you have--the specials are all great--you will be happy. Super trendy. Think one of the guy's from Green Day owns it? Not sure. Super trendy and hip. Service Excellent. Salads wonderful. Breakfast rules. Great to go. Cool to hang. Awesome!
