The Greenwood Pier Cafe was very quaint and located on the main road through Elk. The menu was very limited with only a few selections. The day my wife and I stopped in for an early dinner (around 5:30), the cafe was already out of two menu items and they were also out of lettuce. The items they did have... More

The Greenwood Pier Cafe has a scenic location on Highway 1 overlooking the Pacific Ocean, but the food is just average. Much tastier options available at other restaurants closer to Mendocino. My rib eye steak had less flavor than I expect. Essentially a husband-and-wife operation, with the husband cooking the food and the wife working the dining room. "Traveling the... More

It was a wonderful way to top off our weekend with a Sunday brunch on the way home. The food was very tasty and well presented. We ate outside and the owners were very nice.

The Greenwood Pier has another new personality and this time it appeals to us. After three visits I can say this is a great neighborhood spot. Consistent solid comfort Italian cuisine. My favorite the Chicken Caccitorre is flavorful and plentiful the Eggplant Parm is also a solid dish. My husband enjoys the Pasta. The service is friendly and efficient. We... More

We were steered here by the innkeeper at the Sandpiper House Inn (don't stay there). We later found out that the Sandpiper and Greenwood Pier are owned by the same person. We could tell the food was fresh, but it was so bland. The peach crisp we ordered for dessert was a gummy gloppy mess. There was more oatmeal topping... More

Food was awful, bland and tasteless. In other reviews there were favorable comments about the food. My friends ate at restaurant last year and said food was great. There must be a different chef. He is NO SWEET GENIUS!

Limited menu but the food was excellent. The server let us know that the Chef could accommodate gluten free or vegetarian dinners before we ordered our meals.

As other posters have said, there are limited options for meals in Elk and this one is the best... We had dinner on a Friday evening at 7:30 and the place was moerately full. The food was incredibly fresh and well prepared. There even was entertainment with a guitarist who provided nice background music. You will nto gowrong here.

We were expecting a corner cafe and were surprised to find gourmet fare at Greenwood. Cauliflower soup with a whitefish and napa cabbage was creamy with a wonderful blend of flavors, none overpowering the other. My husband's cioppino was filled with large scallops, fresh crab, mussels and clams. It was delicious, and the generous portion could have fed two people.... More
