Good Breakfast Food & Service

Although we stayed at the Cedar Lodge, we drove the 7 miles distance to eat breakfast here because it is the only restaurant opened near our motel. The breakfast buffet is typical American style with bacon, eggs, oatmeal, sausage, pancakes, french toast, biscuits with white gravy, etc. for $13 and... read more

The menu was expensive, but the food was delicious. There are kitchenettes in the room, so if you aren't in the mood to spend that much on food at the restaurant, you can cook in instead.

The ambiance is pleasant enough - sort of a lodge feeling with beautiful Yosemite paintings on the walls; however the service was curt and brisk. There are limited menu choices, as you might expect in a lodge near a National Park, but the food was disappointing. The salad bar looked like tired old Denny's style, though the ingredients were fresh... More

It was a nice place with an average breakfast buffet. The food is hot, coffee is good and staff is friendly, I only had the buffet breakfast so I can not comment on lunch or dinner.

The food was good and the prices were about what one would pay at any breakfast eatery. The breakfast on Sunday was all you can eat for $11.95 per person. On the negative, the staff was shorthanded for the number of people that were staying at the lodge. The staff that was on hand were very pleasant and worked diligently... More

We came on Presidents Day weekend, and it was overly crowded. The hostess seem to really struggle with the crowd that day and couldn't tell people how long the wait would be. (It was over an hour). The manager was stretched across two restaurants. It's not that big of a place. It's really convenient that if you are staying at... More

Went twice because the choices are very limited in El Portal and winter. The food is was good, but it takes forever to get and even longer to get your bill. Most meals come with a trip to the soup and salad bar. This restaurant is not open for breakfast or lunch during the winter. The people in our party... More

Location, great just outside the park. Visited on a busy 3-day weekend and place was packed. Two bedroom suite was pricey for a room which took you back in time 40 plus years. Toilet handle fell off, smell of cigarette smoke in room (though wife thought smell was more like urine). Don't expect luxury here even if you're paying $500... More

After reading all the horrible reviews we decided to give this place a try because we consider ourselves fair minded people. We've been driving from orange county all day and just wanted some nourishment. I can only speak to our food but we return to the meals out of four. You could tell the staff was used to this and...
