We were staying at the Lodge, so would have appreciated being told about the long waits for a table. All we were told was that reservations were not required. When we got to the Restaurant we were told there was at least a 45 min wait. We waited in the Bar, which had really slow service - even by AUS... More

The food was good and the price was reasonable though it would have been nice to have a little more choice.

Being the only restaurant in the Yosemite view hotel it is the default choice. Not much else in the area and at night driving isn't much fun there. Food is good, very long wait in the evening. a bit expensive.

I liked the dining room decor and stone wall. As a person with food allergies, the choices weren't too great. There is a salad bar, they offer iceberg lettuce; I eat gluten free - - so there was not too many choices. I survived!

Stayed in the lodge and really did not have high expectations of the only restaurant (other than Pizza bar) on site. We were very pleased with the menu, the quality of the food and after coming directly from San Francisco the prices were so reasonable. The service was extremely pleasant, get there early - gets busy from about 6.45pm. Breakfast... More

Well, I guess there isn't a whole lot to choose from in the area, so if you serve edible food to once- or twice-in-a-lifetime visitors, it all works ok on the balance sheet and you can sustain the place for years. Which is exactly how I think of this place. It's "good enough" to put something in your stomach, but... More

We were staying at the Yosemite View Lodge, which is located just outside the town of El Portal. The Lodge has two retaurants, one a pizza joint and one a full service restaurant/bar, The River Restaurant. Excellent service, nicely appointed salad/soup bar, menu offering choices for just about every taste. Given their location, they could probably charge more than they... More

Very disappointed. Came for a nice dinner and was rudely served as we were a group of young adults and seemed to be viewed as 'not very important'. Also heard staff gossiping about a certain table, which actually turned out to be our family. Having been relatives or not, the staff should not be openly speaking about the customers in... More

We stayed at the hotel for one night on a visit to Yosemite, and really, where else are you going to eat? The dinner was surprisingly good. Service was friendly and fairly quick, considering how busy the restaurant was. Our waiter even recommended some good California beers for us to try. We both had the trout, which was very fresh... When staying in El Portal you have limited options. Food was average, prices fair, and service ok. Our concern is that the Lodge property is the pits. Walk into his laundrymat and you will agree. They have a racoon running around the property and on the outside tables. If his property is that dirsty can you image what his kitchen... More
