Crowded, but quick service

The pizza is wonderful. There was quite a line and we wanted to take it back to our room. I asked if we should come back in 30 minutes and the cashier said, it'll be done in 10-15 minutes. It was ready and they didn't skimp on the toppings. We got the pizza called "The River". It was so good.... read more

Over priced. I don't mind paying for good food but the best thing on my plate was the mashed potatoes !!! steak was overcooked , the sword fish was terrible, vegetables were bland and even my beer was room temperature at best !!! As for the waiter, seen him when he took our order then POOF we never seen him... More

There's no real choice for vegans, and if you're vegetarian, you have pizza. They do have a salad bar, but that has meat alongside the veggies and nobody to keep an eye on it. I saw someone accidentally drop something into the lettuce, and my wife and I steered clear.

I know you're on vacation and you expect to pay higher prices in a town like Portal. Do yourself a favor no matter how tired you are stop at Mariposa or in Yosemite Valley to eat. There's nothing redeemable except for the service

The River Restaurant within the Yosemite View hotel is a very nicely decorated and cozy family-type restaurant. We ate Thursday pizza in the bar, Friday breakfast and Sunday buffet in the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty and hot. Prices very reasonable. We would go back.

Don't expect too much and you'll be fine. We had to wait 30 mins and then wait an hour once inside. I'm not sure if they are understaffed of unorganized, but it took forever just to place an order and it wasn't full.Don't order the New York steak with soup/salad combo ... best that can be said is we weren't... Dinner here was a disappointment, and very bad value for money. The staff were friendly enough, but service was still very slow and the food only just about worth waiting for. The breakfast, though a bit downmarket, was at least a pleasant experience and, being a buffet, filled the stomach OK for the day ahead. If we had just come... More

From a mediocre salad bar to the languid service to the uninspired entrees, this place, unfortunately, is pretty much the only game in town without a major drive on the winding mountain roads. Ribs: cooked ok but slathered with a far-too-sweet sauce. The spinach artichoke dip: uh, what happened to the artichoke part? Tried several of their wines. Reasonably priced...for... More

Staff was very friendly and attentive. We went for their breakfast buffet and dinner one night. Just waiter/waitress each time and they were big fantastic. Breakfast was filling and a good price ($11.99) for what you got. Dinners were both good and included soup and salad bar. Limited choices at salad bar though.

The best thing about this restaurant was the 2 waiters that were on the night we were there, Oct 18. They were the hardest working waiters (young man, young woman) I have ever seen. EVERYONE comes here at the end of the day as there are few other choices to eat. There is a pizza place next door. The store... More
